The farming field is not staying away long from atomization. As the change in technology from the last decade there is tremendous use of machines is increased in the agro. The tea cultivated all over the world. India is the second largest producer after thechina and also consuming more than any other country. Large amount of money get by India exporting the tea powder to foreign countries. The best quality is the bud and two leaves along with it. The tea leaves or tea shoots are mainly plucked by the hand in India. The good quality of tea leaves are plucked by this method but it depends labor availability. As from the last decade labor availability is gradually decreased as education awareness is increased in the east India. Also the increase in wages; environmental distraction; insects, leach and snake bites are causes the decrease in the tea production. So for this the atomization and robotizing of tea plucking leaves is required. For this we design the machine for harvesting the tea leaves. The tea leaves harvesting machine is the innovative idea in tea leaf farming and it is new era of technology. This paper gives a brief idea about the existing methodologies andalso proposes the new model to overcome the existing disadvantages in hand tea leaf plucking.this machine is designed as tea leaf plucking and ergonomics leaves. Tea leaves harvesting machine is inbuilt designed with an innovative cutting edge technology which blades are made from ferrous alloy metals. This contributes increase in the production rate.this paper gives a brief idea about the existing methodologies and also proposes the new model to overcome the existing disadvantages in hand tea leaf plucking.this machine is designed as tea leaf plucking and ergonomics aspects,which helps to operate machine without any fatigue. The machine designincludes portable robot mechanism, multi-sensor,robot control unit,rail conveyer and distributing system with container arrangement. India is thesecond largest producer of tea leaves after china and also in the tea products. The tea beverage consumed large manner across all over India. The Tea drink is the State Drink of Assam state in India. India as the world s largest consumer of tea uses nearly about 30 percent ofthe global output. Despite the consumption, India is the largest exporter of tea after china. The tea leaves are plucked by various ways.the first is the hand plucking. In this the labor selects the good leaf, cut and collect it. The second method is cuttingwith the help of scissors like equipment. In this a permanent blade is attached to the collecting box with the handle. These methods are shown in the following figures 1 and 2.. Fig.2 Hand plucking Fig.3 Scissor cutting In the third method the hand operating machines are used for cutting the tea leaves. They may be battery or fuel operated. As the energy source is place back of the worker. In this the rotating blades are used for the cutting of the tea laeves. The leaves are collected in the bag which is attached to the machine. The small machine handled by one worker but for the big machine 4-5 labors are required. This is shown in the following figure 4. The typical methods and machines which are being currently used having the few problems such as more time requirement, damaging the tea plants, less efficiency. It requires more humane resource and fuels required for machines. [3] PROBLEM STATEMENT Everyone s morning is started with the tea. It is a pleasant and hortatory drink in the morning. Tea is the major beverage in most of the countries. The study is done to understand what are the problems are arrived in the tea farming. The problems are found that the shortage of labors, electricity, fuel, pains in the joints, leaches/snake bites etc. To reduce to this we design an automatic tea leaf cutting machine which is sensor enabled and having 4 wheels. It will reduce the manpower and the cost. [4] METHODOLOGY India is one of the world s largest producer of tea and tea products. The mechanization of new tea plucking not accepted in India in last decade because of presence of large amounts of labors in India. The population of India is more hence labors are available in large amount. As the education level increases the peoples are find new ways in their life. Tea leaves and flushes, which include a terminal bud and two young leaves, are picked from Camellia sinensis bushes typically twice a year during early spring and early summer or late spring.in the season of Autumn or winter pickings of tea leaves flushes are much less common or it is no tea leaves are cutting in this season, though they occur when climate permits. Picking is done by hand when a higher quality tea is needed, or where labor costs are not prohibitive. In the hand plucking the quality of tea leaves is depends on theskill of the picker. 3 of the forearm, arm, or even the shoulders, with the picker grasping the tea shoot using the thumb and forefinger. The middle finger sometimes used in combination.tea buds and leaves are picked up by machine, but there will be more brokened and crushed leaves and partial flushes reducing the quality of the tea.however, it canshown that machine plucking in a very correctly timed harvesting periods; it can produce good tea leaves for the production of high quality teas. We are design the tea plucking machine especially for in the flat regions for the conditioned farming with very good drainage system. For good and continuous operation the drainage system should be well planned. The area of the tea garden should be more. Due to good drainage system the healthy bushes are grown up, which are easily cut up by the machine. The machine with four wheels have better control over maintaining height of the bush than two wheeled machines, since they have tendency to tilt. The machine should be large harvesting capacity, weight of the machine, ease of handling, clear vision of the process, clean cutting of tea leaves, and servicing etc. We use the special V shaped stationary blade for supporting the tea buds and another one rotating blade for harvesting tea leaves which is made from the ferrous metal. The machine is integrated with batteries, solar panel and steel structure, collecting bucket and multi usable sensors. The machine is portable and adjustable. [5] PROPOSED MODEL The block diagram of the system is shown in figure5.the schematic of embedded controller hardware and software operations shown in the figure. Fig5. Tea leaf Harvesting Machine System Block Diagram [5.1] Power Source The solar panel gives power supply to the whole equipment. The solar panel converts the sun radiant energy into equivalent potential and it stored in the battery. When in the rainy season and low energy is gathered,then mains AC source is directly used as SMPS power supply. To convert AC to DC the AC to DC converter is used and power is stored in battery. [5.2] Battery The battery used in the system is made from lithium ions which has very low weight from the normal battery. It has extending capacity. The battery used insystem get charged from the solar panels and ac mains. The stored power in battery used to drive the cutting blades and the movement of wheels to front and back. [5.3] Power Supply It supplies power to equipment as supply required to drive the system. The SMPS (switch mode power supply) is used for continuous operation of equipment. [5.4] Microcontroller The controller used to drive equipment is arduinouno. It is the microcontroller board based on ATmega 328. It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz ceramic resonator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button.the Bluetooth module is connected to arduinouno. DC motor is connected to board using PWM digital inputs. [5.5] Motor Drivers The L298 can control the speed and direction of DC motors and stepper motors and can control two motors simultaneously. Its current rating is 2A for each motor. This current increase the electrons movement in the circuit hence you will need to use heat sinks. The android app is designed to sending serial data to the Bluetooth module. When the certain button is pressed; the command is ordered to the microcontrollerthrough BT module. The Bluetooth module at other end receives the data and send to arduinio through the TX pin of Bluetooth module(rx pin of arduino). The Code feeds to the arduino board; it checks the received data and compares with programmed commands.if received data is 1 the LED turns on turns OFF when received data is 0. [5.7] Cutting Blades and Blower The rotating cutting blades which are made from the ferrous material harvests the tea leaves. The blower gives pressure on the tea leaves using air pressure and this way the tea leaves are dropped in storage tank. [5.8] Storage Tank With Level Sensor The level sensor used is a ultrasonic level sensor which interfacing with arduino and if storage is full then buzzer gets start and entire the process of equipment is stop. [6] CONCLUSION Tea industry is contributesin thedevelopment of India and large amount of jobs to peoples. It is also gathered large amount of part in the exports of India. Therefore it is necessary to overcome the problems existing in the tea industry such as shortage of labors, increase in wages and decrease in the production rate. The proposed model is an effort made to increase in tea production rate by using the new technologies in electronics and mechanical. It is an environmentally pollution free machine and low cost and in size which is helpful for tea leaf harvesting in short time with good quality of tea leaf plucking.
