1 25 th Annual Tournament in the Hills at Trabuco Hills High School Director s Packet WELCOME: On behalf of the Trabuco Hills High School Instrumental Music Program, thank you for adding our competition to your field show season schedule! We are filled with anticipation and excitement and are so pleased you will attend! Contest Contacts: NAME: Quincy Nguyen, (949) , thhsmusicwebmaster@gmail.com FIRST AID: Please make sure your parent chaperones and student leaders are aware of the location of our First Aid station. The First Aid Trailer will be located next to the portables classrooms and the vendor area. Consult the campus map for the specific location. Please see any volunteer for assistance in the case of an emergency. BUS/EQUIPMENT TRUCK PARKING: We would greatly appreciate it if you have all your vehicles (buses and support vehicles) arrive at all at once. Bus and equipment vehicle parking is assigned and very limited on our campus. You will be informed of your bus parking location upon check-in. No vehicles will be allowed on the campus unless a parking pass is properly displayed. Please note that we do have solar panels throughout our parking lots. ARRIVAL/WRISTBANDS: Wristbands for performers will be given to you in your check in packet upon arrival per WBA regulations. These wristbands will allow entrance to the away side of the stadium only. Directors and staff will need to use their official WBA Membership Badge for admission to the stadium. Parents will use their official Pit Pass to assist the students while at the show. Any chaperones that wish to watch on the home side will be asked to purchase a spectator wristband from the ticket booth.

2 MUSIC WARM-UP AREAS: Please use the upper field, quad area and any other areas on campus to warm-up, observing all silent zones and facing away from the stadium. The tennis courts are a quiet zone and are reserved as a guard warmup area only. There will not be a concern unless the band warming-up interferes with the performing bands or other bands in the warm-up area. Please be aware of your time as your group proceeds to the warm-up area, staging area and ultimately the performance field. Again, there will be NO room for rehearsing in the parking lot. PERCUSSION EQUIPMENT/PROPS: Please make sure you have adequate staff and means to assist the moving of your percussion equipment and props to and from the performance area. Please see the Detailed Schedule for Front Ensemble report times on the WBA website. Motorized vehicles are NOT allowed on the field turf at any time. STAGING: The staging area and entrance/exit routes are located near the portables classrooms outside of the stadium entrance. Please consult the attached map for specific locations. TIMING: 1A/2A/3A bands have 13 minutes and 4A/5A have 15 minutes to take the field, perform, and exit the field. Please refer to the WBA contest rule book for further clarification. JUDGES COMMENTS: The WBA now uses a software program called Competition Suite. Please refer to the WBA web site under forms to make sure you are signed up for this. AWARDS CEREMONY: The awards ceremony will begin at approximately 9:30pm. Please send your student leadership to the track on the southwest side of the stadium (the back of side 1 where the bands are pre staged). They should arrive by 9:15pm. 3 SEATING ASSIGNMENTS FOR VISTOR STANDS: ALL performing members and chaperones are required to sit on the visitor side of the stadium, until that seating area is full, at which time your school will be directed to a selected seating area. Please make sure that all performers wear a wristband provided in the packet and chaperones have a Pit Pass in order to gain access into the stadium. CONCESSION STANDS: There will be an assortment of great food, drinks, and snacks for participants and spectators. NO GRILLS OR OPEN FIRES ARE ALLOWED ON CAMPUS, IN THE STADIUM OR PARKING LOTS. This is a fundraising event and we encourage all participants to support our event by purchasing food at the concession stands in the stadium. HOSPITALITY: Hospitality will be located in the first two classrooms outside the stadium entrance. We are here to provide you and your staff with complimentary meal service and refreshments. Please feel free to visit with your staff and enjoy a great meal! Admission to this area will be permitted to those who have an official Western Band Association staff pass ONLY. SPECTATOR PARKING: The parking structure allows us to offer very limited spectator parking on campus. The best part is, the parking is FREE! Spots will fill up very quickly, so inform your booster parents to come to the show early to secure a spot. Entrance to the parking structure will be at the end of Mustang Run (see included campus map). Once the parking structure is full, spectators will need to find the best available parking. TICKETS & PROGRAMS: Tickets can be purchased at the Ticket Booth located near the south end of the stadium. A purchased ticket is valid for the entire show. Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $7 for children under 12 years old, $7 for seniors over 65 years old, $7 for Military personnel (in uniform or identification) and free for children under 5 years old. Programs are $5. This year, we will accept debit and credit cards. VIDEO TAPING: Included in the packet is a Video Pass. The videographer for your unit MUST also have a wristband and video pass to gain access into the stadium press box to videotape your school s performance only! LOST AND FOUND: Lost and found is located at the Volunteer Check-in Booth near the main gymnasium. TRASH DISPOSAL: Every effort is made to provide trash containers that are easy to locate and accessible. Please remind your students to use these receptacles when disposing of all trash. Also, you may use the recycle bins located throughout the campus.

4 TOBACCO AND ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: The Tournament in the Hills is held on the campus of Trabuco Hills High School. Absolutely no smoking or alcoholic beverages are permitted on the premises.
