Pre-Registration: Article VII, Section 6 of the Rules and Regulations states that pre-registration is necessary. Registration fee will be refunded if notified in writing by September 25, A registration form is enclosed. The registration fee is $125 and checks should be made payable to the 52 nd MEUM. Mail them to the address on the bottom of the registration form. Registrations postmarked after the deadline will be assessed a $10.00 late fee. Please provide a separate check for (1) ladies registration, men s registration and the bus tour, (2) tidbits of love/booster page/pizza, and ads. Hotel: The hotel rates range between $125 for a standard room to $267 for a three bedroom suite. The Killington Grand Resort Hotel and Conference Center has free parking and wireless high speed internet access. Each unit has a kitchenette allowing you to prepare your own meals/snacks or you can eat in the onsite restaurant (see page 4 for more information).

2 GETTING THERE Hotel Directions: The address of the hotel is 228 East Mountain Road, Killington, VT 05751, all the way at the top of the mountain. East Mountain Road is located off Route 4 about 20 minutes north of. Amtrak Information: The Amtrak station in Rutland which is about 20 minutes from Killington. The address is 25 Evelyn St., and it is located behind Walmart. Reserve at Amtrak.com. Airport information: There is a small airport just south of Rutland on Airport Road in North Clarenden. Jet Blue (as well as Cape Air) flies into Rutland Airport daily from Boston only. Free parking and rental cars available at the airport. Call JetBlue to make reservations. Car Rental and Shuttle: GRAMPS S SHUTTLE Reservation (802) or gramps.shuttle@comcast.com. GREEN MOUNTAIN CAR RENTAL: (802) or vtcarrental.com. Boutique & Basket Opportunity: The boutique will be open for daily shopping on Friday and Saturday. You can also take a chance on several opportunity baskets. See schedule for hours. Welcome Pajama Party: There will be a Pajama Party on Thursday evening in the Gateway Room (near the restaurant) for anyone arriving a day early. Bring your own non-adult beverages or purchase a drink from the lounge.. and don t forget to wear your pajamas!!! Friday Fall Foliage Bus Tour On Friday, there will be an optional Fall Foliage Bus Tour. The bus will stop at the following places: Quaint Village of Woodstock Vermont Country Store Weston Country Store Weston Village Christmas Shop Green Mountain Sugar House You can have lunch at either the Bryant House Restaurant or Mildred s Dairy Bar (on your own). The trip down Route 100 is probably the most scenic foliage route in central Vermont. The cost for the bus is $30. Lunch will be on your own. We need to have a minimum of 25 people to sign up for this trip or it will be cancelled. The maximum is only 50 people, so don t wait to sign up as we re sure this will be popular. You won t be sorry you went on this trip. Remember..this is peak foliage weekend!!! Fun Night: Fun Night will be held on Friday night. Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm. Please make your meal choice on the registration form that is attached. Guests are welcome to attend. Remember the old variety show HeeHaw. Well that s what s happening after dinner. We are asking each unit or court to come prepared to show your talent at the HeeHaw show. Just read a poem, tell a joke, throw in an advertisement, sing a song, do a little jig whatever your unit wants to do. Let us know on the Unit Registration form what your court or unit has planned so we can put you on the program. Past President s Breakfast Meeting: We invite all Past Presidents of the Mid-East Unit Meets, Grand High Priestess, Past Grand High Priestesses and Grand Officers to a continental breakfast on Saturday morning at 8:00 am in the hospitality suite. A pre-registration for the breakfast will be necessary so we can plan ahead. There is a place on the registration form to pre-register for the breakfast. Business Meeting: The Business Meeting will be held at 9:30 am. To attend the meeting, you will need your fez, your registration badge, and your current dues card. All Ladies of the Oriental Shrine of North America, whether in a unit or not, are invited. However, only unit members will be counted in the roll call.

3 Luncheon: The Saturday Luncheon will be featuring hot Vermont comfort foods like Mac & Vermont Cheddar Cheese, Butternut Squash Bisque, Tossed Salad, Warm Rolls, and Fresh Apple Crisp. Registration badge and fez required. Men s Registration: A registration form for the men is enclosed. The registration fee is $50.00 which includes the Fun Night Dinner on Friday night. On Saturday, there is the option of spending time in the outdoor heated pool/hot tub, playing golf, doing some sightseeing locally, or taking the gondola to the top of the mountain. And we hope you ll join us for the exhibition drills. Exhibition Drills: There will be rehearsal time for the drills beginning at 2:30 pm. The Exhibition drills will begin at 6:00 pm on Saturday. In our Rules and Regulations, it states that all members must be registered to participate and that each unit must perform within the five minute limit. Members should plan to wear their registration badges. Unit leaders will draw for position immediately after the business meeting. All units are requested to participate in the massing of the colors. Please complete the enclosed Unit Registration form. Program Ads: If you would like to place an ad in the journal, please complete the enclosed form and return by August 1, 2018 to the address at the bottom of the form with a separate check made payable to 52 nd MEUM. Cancellations/Refunds: All cancellations must be in writing and postmarked two weeks in advance of the Unit Meet. All cancellations are subject to a $5 handling fee. A deck of cards has 52 cards in it.and this is the 52 nd MEUM. A fun time is planned following the luncheon. Prizes will be given for the best outfits, so be creative in what you wear to lunch. Clubs, diamonds, spades and don t forget the Hearts of Gold. There will be an opportunity for drill Rehearsals will immediately following lunch. Saturday Dinner: We understand that sometimes it is difficult to get out for dinner, so we ve made it easy. At 5:00 pm, there will be a pizza party in the banquet room for any court or unit interested in ordering pizza from the hotel. Pizza must be pre-ordered on the enclosed form and paid for in advance. Plates and napkins will be provided. There will be service available in the meeting room with adult beverages and soda. This optional meal is not included in the registration fee. If you are not interested in attending the Pizza Party, there is also a restaurant onsite at the hotel and several restaurants within a short driving distance. Or you can bring your own food to prepare in your hotel rooms since they all have kitchens. They accept all major credit cards. Flowers will be delivered to the hotel on Saturday before noon.
