1 GENERAL SHOW INFORMATION 28 th Winter International Fancy Food & Confection Show January 19-21, 2003 Moscone Center 747 Howard Street San Francisco, CA Show Hours Sunday January 19 10:00am 5:00pm Monday January 20 10:00am 5:00pm Tuesday January 21 10:00am 4:00pm Exhibitors must have their Exhibitor Badges for entry into the Exhibit Hall. Badged Exhibitors will have access to the exhibit hall at 7:00am during move-in, show days and move-out. Move-In Thursday January 16 7:00am* 5:00pm Friday January 17 7:00am* 5:00pm Saturday January 18 7:00am* 5:00pm** Overtime rates will be in effect all day Saturday & Sunday. Overtime rates will also apply Monday through Friday before 8am and after 5pm. "Last In/First Out" Booths - exhibitors in these booths will be allowed to set-up beginning Saturday, January 18 at 8am. Please keep in mind that if you will require labor, overtime rates will apply. *The loading docks will not be open until 8am. **Exhibitors must be checked into the hall by 5pm but may continue working as long as necessary. Move-Out Tuesday January 21 4:00pm 10:00pm Wednesday January 22 7:00am* 5:00pm Thursday January 23 7:00am* 12noon Empties will be returned on Tuesday, January 21 beginning at 4:00pm. We estimate that it will take 6 hours to return all of the empties. Please make your travel plans accordingly. All Exhibitor materials must be removed from the exhibit facility by Thursday, January 23 12noon. All carriers must check-in with Freeman no later than Thursday, January 23 by 11:00am. Freeman Decorating Company reserves the right to choose another freight carrier for your shipment if your assigned carrier has not checked in by 11:00am on Thursday, January 23. *The loading docks will not be open until 8am.

5 GLOSSARY OF TERMS CWT: CUBIC CONTENT: DRAYAGE: Abbreviation for hundred weight. Equivalent of 100 lbs. Unit or measure used in drayage/material handling. (Tab 7) Typically a display regulation. Under the Cubic Content Rule an exhibitor may build right up to the front of the booth, (without protruding into the aisles or into a neighboring booth) up to the maximum allowable height. (Tab 2) Hauling goods short distances. In trade show usage: moving exhibit materials within the confines of the exhibit hall or at the general contractor s warehouse. Also called "Material Handling". (Tab 7) DRAYAGE CHARGE: The dollar cost based on weight. Drayage is calculated by 100- pound units, or hundred weight, abbreviated CWT. There is usually a minimum charge. (NASFT Fancy Food Show minimum is 200 lbs.) (Tab 7) EXHIBITOR DESIGNATED CONTRACTOR (EDC): Also known as NON-OFFICIAL CONTRACTOR or EXHIBITOR APPOINTED CONTRACTOR. Any company (other than the designated official contractors ) providing a service and needing access to an exhibit any time during Move-In, Show Days, and Move-Out. (Tab 6) EXHIBITOR All Exhibitor-Driven Vehicles that will be loading and unloading DRIVEN VEHICLE goods at the Convention Center. Maximum freight weight of (EDV) Exhibitor-Driven Vehicle is 500 lbs. (Tab 7) FLOOR MANAGER: FREEMAN DECORATING COMPANY: Person retained by the NASFT to assist exhibitors with questions or problems during Move-In, Show Days and Move-Out. (further information will be provided in your Exhibitor Bulletin mailing in the beginning of January) Freeman Decorating Company is the Official General Contractor for the NASFT Fancy Food Shows. They are responsible for drayage, signs, labor, carpet, furnishings, booth accessories and rental displays and shipping. (Tab 4) GENERAL See Freeman Decorating Company. (Tab 4) CONTRACTOR: HAND CARRIABLE: Items that can be carried in one trip, by one person, without the aid of a hand truck, dolly or any other wheeled device. (Tab 7) ISLAND BOOTH: A booth with aisles on four sides. (Tab 2) LINEAR BOOTH: A booth with aisles on one or two sides. (Tab 2)

Exhibitors are required to provide a reasonable sightline from the aisle into their neighbors' booths. (Tab 2) Control point at which all freight is checked in. Freight then is dispatched to the appropriate loading dock as space becomes available. This process ensures that freight is delivered to the exhibit hall in a safe, orderly and expedient fashion. (Tab 7) A list or receipt of goods shipped. Important: When all material is packed at the end of the Show, the completed Material Handling Form (including name of your carrier) must be given to the Freeman Freight Desk. Exhibitors must make arrangements with the carrier of his/her choice for pick-up. (Tab 7) Abbreviation for Modular Interlocking System; A modular exhibit system used by Freeman to construct booth displays. (Tab 4) A select group of companies under contract with the NASFT, responsible to perform the various tasks and provide services needed to set-up, maintain and dismantle the Show. (Tab 3) Order for labor or services placed once you have arrived at the Show. Prices for on-site orders are more costly than advance orders (the price differences can be found on each order form). Work performed on overtime billed at either time-and-one-half or twice the published straight-time labor rates. Check the hours listed in this manual. (Tab 4) Similar to a household goods moving van. Operators specialize in moving fragile goods to and from the Show. (Tab 7) Booth with aisles on three sides. (Also called ENDCAP) (Tab2) Applies to material shipments requiring extra labor, equipment, or time for delivery to exhibit space (examples include non-crated or palletized shipments). (Tab 7) Labor performed on a straight-time basis as opposed to over-time. Check the hours listed in this manual. (Tab 4) On-site union official. The Steward is elected by his co-workers to oversee that particular union s work in the facility. Stewards represent the union workers when there is a dispute over the work being conducted on the Show Floor and in the facility. (Tab 4)

7 MOSCONE CENTER TRANSIT & PARKING 747 Howard Street, San Francisco CA Located in the urban heart of San Francisco's downtown district, The Moscone Center is easily accessible by transit. BART offers fast, convenient regional service and MUNI Metro provides light rail service throughout the City into the Powell and Embarcadero stations. Caltrain offers a frequent schedule into the nearby station at 4th & Townsend Streets. All of these stations are within a few minutes' walk of The Moscone Center. While this page includes directions for reaching the center by various transportation modes, the emphasis on transit is provided for the visitor's convenience. Although parking is available at various locations throughout the south of market area, this remains a dense and highly active urban district. Transit use minimizes traffic congestion and eases the demand for parking at peak periods. Arrival via BART or MUNI Metro Disembark at the Powell Street station. Exit to 4th and Market Streets. Turn right on 4th Street. Walk two blocks south to Howard Street and turn left at the signal. The Moscone Center is located on Howard between 3rd and 4th Streets, with Moscone South on the right and Moscone North on the left. For fare and schedule information, call the BART Hotline at Arrival via Caltrain Exiting the station, cross 4th Street and catch the MUNI #15, #30, or #45 bus line and get off at 3rd and Howard. Moscone South will be on the left and Moscone North on the right. Or to walk, turn left and walk up 4th Street five blocks to Howard. Turn right on Howard. Moscone South is on the right and Moscone North on the left. Call the CalTrain Hotline at for fare and schedule information. Arrival by Car From San Francisco International Airport. Exit airport "North on Interstate 101" then follow directions below. There are also several services available to transport you between the San Francisco International Airport (SF0) and downtown SF: SFO Airporter/ ; SuperShuttle ; or SamTrans ;. For more information on ground access transportation to and from SF0 call SF North on Interstate 101. Take 80 East. Then take the 4th Street Exit. Take a left on Bryant, a left on Third and a left on Howard. The Moscone Center is located on the 700 block of Howard Street. You'll find Moscone South on your left and Moscone North on your right. Via the Bay Bridge. Take the Fremont Street Exit to Howard Street and turn left on Howard. The Moscone Center is located on the 700 block of Howard Street. You'll find Moscone South on your left and Moscone North on your right. Via the Golden Gate Bridge. Take the Lombard Street exit to Van Ness Avenue. Turn right on Van Ness. Travel south to Grove. This will be approximately two miles. Turn left on Grove Street. Continue to Market Street. Cross Market Street and travel south on 8th Street to Folsom. Turn left on Folsom, left on Third and left on Howard. The Moscone Center is located on the 700 block of Howard Street. You'll find Moscone South on your left and Moscone North on your right. Via BART, MUNI Metro. Disembark at the Powell Street Station. Exit to 4th and Market Streets. Turn right on 4th. Walk two blocks south to Howard and turn left.
