Our wines hail from the best vineyards that Sonoma and Napa Valley have to offer. And our bartenders can craft your favorite cocktail, or one of our own specialties, with our wide selection of spirits. SALOON As our dining room quiets down, our saloon upstairs keep things going. We re open Sunday through Thursday until 1AM and until 2AM on Fridays and Saturdays. Come enjoy a special late night menu and take advantage of our great selection of beer, wine and spirits.

8 Meet The Owner: Mike Cordero About Mike Cordero Executive Chef, Entrepreneur, Community Leader, Restaurateur, Father Owner: Primetime Sports Bar & Grille, Bronx Pizza & Subs, A-Town Bar & Grill and FlatIron Steak & Saloon Growing up as a child in the South Bronx to Puerto Rican immigrants, Mike Cordero is no stranger to the rigors of hard work and sacrifice. At a young age he could be found at the nearby mom and pop pizza parlor, working hard and saving for that one thing that mattered: bleacher tickets to Yankees Stadium (conveniently two blocks from home). With the relentless work ethic of his parents on daily display, Mike honed the drive and instinct needed to stay afloat in the fast-paced, rapid-fire world of business early on in life. The untimely death of his parents at age 15 saw him relocated to New Jersey, where a family friend and owner of Italian Delight, a small pizza business, would took him under his wing. His ongoing childhood love for baseball won him a scholarship right out of high school to Stockton State College, where his play caught the eye of a talent scout, and after only a year in college, a new opportunity came across the plate. The kid who grew up two blocks from Yankee Stadium was asked to play baseball for the Seattle Mariners Class A Minor League team. After a year on the road and a hampering knee injury, Mike left the Minor Leagues and returned to the same pizza chain; this time as President of Operations for the growing retailer. Soon after; a 20-year old Mike would move once again, this time to Fairfax, Virginia to oversee the company s most ambitious expansions; in highly visible and profitable venues, to include shopping mall food courts a relatively new approach at the time. With plenty of success came suitors for the business, and after Italian Delight was sold in the late eighties, Mike continued to pursue his dream. He formed a partnership with plans of owning and operating his own fine dining restaurant, and with hard work and long hours, his first concept, Bravo s, came to life. Bravo s opened to immense success; culminating the persistence, hard work and never quit attitude engrained in him by his parents. He was finally living the American Dream they sought for him. Chef Mike rolled up his sleeves and over the years successfully open six more Bravos restaurants in the Washington Metropolitan area. Eager for a bigger challenge, Mike sold four of the locations to his partner in 1995, while keeping his Bravo s flagship in Fairfax, Virginia as his base operation. The next decade and a half saw Cordero open and experiment with newer and bolder restaurant concepts, each time pushing the envelope within the industry. After touring restaurants across the country, Mike discovered a Brazilian steakhouse in New York and fell in love with the cuisine. He dedicated months to learning the various levels of prep and the many subtle intricacies of the country s cuisine. After painstaking organization and planning, Cordero opened the Brazilian steakhouse, Malibu Grill to rave reviews. The restaurant was profiled in the Washington Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Restaurant News, Restaurant Hospitality Magazine and numerous other publications to include a piece on CNN. Shortly after, a Washington-area tastemaker was born. To date, his latest concepts remain as some of his boldest and most successful; at least until the chef introduces some of the newer concepts patiently waiting in the wings.
