Do come and admire all the windows and the hard work that goes into producing them. South Downs National Park Walk 1st October 2016 at 2pm. tom.parry@southdowns.gov.uk Tel: FREE A SDNP Ranger will head up a walk to guide you through some of this beautiful area, where so many of our local farmers live and work, producing food for all of us. No booking required, just meet up at the High Street Car Park (opposite the Clock Tower/ behind the Bus Shelter) at 2pm. The walk will take approximately 1.5/2 hours roughly 3 to 4 miles stopping at interesting points along the way for a breather. It will involve at least one big up and down so maybe a good idea to bring a bottle of water with you and please wear sensible shoes. On return to the village there are plenty of tea shops/cafés available to enjoy refreshments before heading for home; a discount voucher for 50% will be given to all walkers for use at participating businesses. Community Orchard Apple Day Memorial Playing Field 1st October pm to 4pm info@steyningcommunityorchard.org An annual family fun day with all sorts of appley events, including: Apple juicing and apple tasting. s Fruit Tree Survey tell us about the trees in your garden. Young fruit trees for sale. Advice about fruit tree growing. Apple bobbing and other games. Refreshments including appley treats, cakes and produce stall. Live music. The Orchard is located in the South West Corner of The Memorial Playing Fields,, adjacent to the Rublees Allotment hedge. Access is via the two twittens off Newham Lane; at the entrance to the allotments and one other a few hundred metres further down the road. Further access is available from entrances in Charlton Street and Mill Road. 59
