The Government of Trinidad and Tobago has submitted the following information concerning quantitative import restrictions in force in Trinidad and Tobago as of 1 July The Government of Trinidad and Tobago permits entry on Open General Licence of all goods other than those on the Negative List, from all countries of the world, except the following countries, all imports from which are subject to licensing: Albania, Bulgaria, China, Czechoslovakia, Eastern Germany, Hungary, North Korea, Poland, Rumania, USSR and Yugoslavia. Although all imports from Poland, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia are subject 'to licence, in practice licences are granted freely for imports of goods not oh the Negative List as it applies to other countries. 3. There are certain items not on the Negative List imports of which are not freely allowed on grounds of health or public safety and welfare. 4. ^his notification is made without prejudice to any subsequent decision by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to invoke one or another article of the. General Agreement as justification for some or all of the restrictions mentioned. Two separate lists submitted by Trinidad and Tobago, showing (l) the list of goods subject to import licensing, and (2) details concerning the application of such licensing, have been consolidated by the secretariat. As considerable time elapsed in this process, the lists have also been brought up to date by the inclusion of certain supplemental published material.

Consequently special arrangements are in force affecting imports of certain pre ducts, as shown below.
