6 THE LA KIUVA COOPERATIVE WAS FOUNDED IN 1975 IN THE VAL D AOSTA, THE SMALLEST ITALIAN REGION, NESTLED IN THE ALPS TO THE NORTH-WEST OF THE ITALIAN PENINSULA, BORDERING WITH FRANCE AND SWITZERLAND

9 BORGOGNO IS ONE OF THE OLDEST WINERIES OF ITALY. IT WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1761 BY BARTOLOMEO BORGOGNO, RIGHT IN THE VILLAGE OF BAROLO

10 The Borgogno estate spans over 16 hectares at the heart of Barolo production area Elevation: m a.s.l. 11 THE ORIGIN OF THE MIRAFIORE WINERY IS A LOVE STORY BETWEEN THE KING OF ITALY VITTORIO EMANUELE II AND THE PEASANT ROSA VERCELLANA AT THE HEART OF THE BAROLO AREA. THE ESTATE HAD BEEN DONATED BY THE KING HIMSLELF TO HIS ILLEGITIMATE SON EMANUELE DI MIRAFIORE

12 25 hectares of property in Serralunga d Alba Elevation between m a.s.l Production at Mirafiore started in 1878, and the winery soon became an important name on the international wine market, with Barolo Mirafiore exported as far as the United States and Argentina After almost 50 years of great growth and commercial success, the winery went through some serious financial troubles and the son of Emanuele di Mirafiore, Gastone, was forced to sell his properties at auction in the 1930s After a long period dedicated to mainstream wine production, in 2007 the vineyards and the brand were acquired by Oscar Farinetti, with the aim of revitalizing the old splendor of Mirafiore Mirafiore wines are appreciated for their elegance and approachability; smooth tannins, generous ripe fruit notes and well balanced acidity are the key features of these Barolos; ready to drink as much as to be aged. 13 THE CORDERO DI MONTEZEMOLO FAMILY HAS DEEP ROOTS IN THE HISTORY OF PIEMONTE. SINCE 1340, 19 GENERATIONS HAVE MANAGED THE MONFALLETTO PROPERTY IN THE TOWN OF LA MORRA, THE CENTER OF THE BAROLO WINE DISTRICT.

29 CANTINA ANSELMI IS A FAMILY BUSINESS LOCATED IN MONTEFORTE D ALPONE, IN THE PROVINCE OF VERONA. THE OWNER ROBERTO ANSELMI DECIDED TO GO BACK TO THE FAMILY BUSINESS IN HE HAD A DREAM: TO REPURCHASE THOSE VINEYARDS THAT HIS GRANDFATHER HAD CULTIVATED FOR 25 YEARS AND LOST IN 1945 BECAUSE OF WORLD WAR II

30 Today, Anselmi cultivates 70 hectares of vineyards, more than half of them owned by the family The vineyards are planted in the traditional Soave areas: Monteforte, Soave, Foscarino and Zoppega on high hills exposed to south Calcareous volcanic soil, rich in limestone Garganega is the main grape variety cultivated, along with some aromatic vines Great importance is given to viticulture here: the Guyot cultivation method has substituted the traditional pergola, to lower yields.
