2 Insights FLAVOUR TOURISM is one of the key trends driving interest in South American foods with customers seeking to replicate their travel experiences through food trying new DISHES and seeking bolder flavours. More and more customers are identifying as FOODIES, and their interest in food is driving the rapid growth of hot and emerging cuisines. Awareness of South American food is increasing, from the likes of restaurants such as Ceviche, Las Iguanas, Chiquito & Andina to the more BBQ-focused Churrasco & Asado style restaurants such as Cabana, Preto, Rodizio Rico, Viva Brazil & Fiesta Del Asado. In response to this increasing demand, we ve refreshed Latina Merica - focusing on the BBQ element, a trend growing rapidly in popularity and set for 22% growth over the next 3-5 YEARS.* Churrasco is a Spanish and Portuguese term referring to beef or grilled meat. A churrascaria is a place where meat is cooked in churrasco style, which translates roughly from the Portuguese for barbecue.
