13 BON APPÉTIT! DAY Dates: October 13 & December 8th One of the objectives of the PAC is to work on community building. With this in mind and inspired in the French schools cantines (cafeteria), we will be having community-style buffets for the children and staff at school. The style of food is to be French cuisine, enabling children to experience the culture through food. Bon Appetit Day is an opportunity for children to be able to have a meal in a cafeteria-style setting in the school gymnasium where conversation and sharing will be a part of their meal. We are confident that these opportunities will encourage children to participate with the school community and to build long lasting memories of their school year. Any proceeds of this event will serve as a fundraiser for the PAC to support the activities that have been planned by the school. Ordering for Bon Appétit Days will be done in a later date. Further information will be sent closer to the date of the event. FOOD ALLERGIES Although the food does not contain any nuts and the majority of the food is prepared in a nut-free kitchen, the vendor is not able to guarantee that it is a nut-free facility as there is a secondary kitchen that is used on occasion where meals that contain allergens are prepared. For this reason, we strongly recommend that if your child has a mild to severe allergy to please bring food from home. Even though your child may not be able to order food, they will be able to bring their food in the Bon Appétit Day events that we have set to happen during the school year. This will be a time for your child to be social and at the same time, it will create awareness in other children of the possible allergies or conditions that exist.
