The resulting design is a simple and practical steamer set which is easy to understand and suitable for Asian and Western steam cooking alike. Steam Poacher is an extension which is design to enhance your steaming experience. The set includes a large chef's knife and a smaller paring knife, both with advanced ceramic blades which are specifically suited for cutting and slicing without the need for regular re-sharpening. 11 Family Belongings Designer : Yung-Ho Chang / FCJZ JIA Inc. In the past, farmers from Northern China used naturally dried HULUs (gourds) to scoop water and wash rice. Tableware and eating utensils were considered essential family belongings that connected everyone to the same table, symbolizing harmony and a sense of home. Today, people acquire material desires too easily, losing the sense of attachment to ordinary objects. JIA Inc. reinvents traditional family objects using porcelain to give new meaning to simple, rustic utensils and to encourage the reflection of the true meaning of family and home. Materials : Porcelain Designer Yung-Ho Chang breaks the rule of 6 by 6 dinnerware set. These organic shape plates offer an alternative way of preparing and sharing food in your own creative way. And the shape of the gourd also resembles the Chinese character of (Ji) meaning good fortune. Admire the landscape of four seasons while savoring each season's specialty. Different tints of the glass layered out display an example of beauty just as in a calligraphic painting, while the clear translucence of a spring plate, a summer glass, an autumn bowl and a winter cup complete the full cycle of another year. Dinnerware Materials : Porcelain Clay is fashioned into vessels; but it is on their empty hollowness, that their use depends. Therefore, what has a (positive) existence serves for profitable adaptation, and what has not that for (actual) usefulness. The minimal design and the attention to details are to awaken the sense of touch while in use. With no ambition to translate the philosophy of the center figure of Chinese Taoism, Lao Tsze (500B.C.), designer tries to record her understanding for this master s thinking:harmony between the being (you) and the non-being (wu). To keep the design as minimal as possible is to encourage the user to notice the void emptiness, the hollow part that people put food in/on.consistent and floating lines in this series have made your own free combination on the table a fun and an artistic event

It is characterized by a refined and semi translucent finish. Adopting this traditional craftsmanship, RICE plays with the subtle contrast between glazed and un-glazes finishes to create a set of daily Condiment Set MaterialsSilicone, Glass, Plastic, Plywood with basswood veneer 'Taste' is a tabletop condiment set which allows for a wide range of seasoning and condiments to be assembled to suit individual taste and culinary customs - Western and Asian alike. Hiding the transparent glass bottles in a plywood stand, the condiment set invites discovery. People took the pronunciation of "Quan", which is the homonym to the Chinese character signifying "complete" or even "perfection". Small and large boxes with a combination of opaque and smooth surfaces, as well as a variety of colour selections, can be piled up or used individually, allowing you to maximise your creativity on the dining table. Dou Plate Materials : Bio degradable EPA Melamine The high-stemmed Dou plates were dinnerware from early Qin dynasty used for ceremonies. The tall and slender stem of the plate was designed based on how nobles sat kneeling down, and such design allows you to take food out conveniently from teh plate. An irregular surface adds a touch of tenderness to the plates. Through globalization, the bowl and chopsticks culture is now widely adopted in North America and Europe. JIA invited Masayuki Kurokawa and Seung Yong Song who have extraordinary professional backgrounds to design something ordinary such as the bowl and chopsticks. 稏 FUDO - Lacquer Ware Designer : Masayuki Kurokawa Materials : Cherry Birch, Lacquer, Ebony, Stainless Steal, Natural Color Lacquer Fudo utilizes materials from Nature with earth elements (wind and soil) as its foundation and draws its energy from mother earth. With Japanese design master, Masayuki Kurokawa s simplistic and pure design and renowned Japanese Lacquer-ware craft artist, Kuroda Shogo s outstanding artistry, this limited edition product presents the ultimate craftsmanship as the family heirloom. 稏 FUDO - Bone China Designer : Masayuki Kurokawa Materials : Bone China, Ebony, Stainless steel In searching for the origin of the bowl and chopsticks, design Masayuki Kurokawa is inspired by the two elements that nurture all living begins, wind and soil or in this native language Fudo. The result are a bowl with profile that is a direct yet subtle symbolization of palms slowly closing in on mouth and a pair if chopsticks represents twigs, which are perhaps the ultimate origin of these two utensils

The handle of the cutlery match the finishing brushstroke in calligraphy while the thickness is ideal for the force exerted by each user. Kkini Designer : Seung Yong Song Materials : Bamboo, Stoneware, Brass Inspired by traditional Korean Dolsot stone bowl for bimbimbap, designer Seung Yong Song reinterprets the warmest and fondest memories in this simple porcelain bowl. Though hard as stone, carries the joy and tenderness felt at home. The bamboo lid, once lifted, reveals the steam from food reminiscent happiness from family gathering.
