This limits the output that the company is able to produce per month. The company is seeking an automated machine that is capable to produce all three products i.e. soap bar, lotion and balm. All of these products are produced from bees wax. The company is seeking an automation for the following process (for a small scale production): 1. Honey comb frames are removed from the hive, 2. The wax caps are shaved off of the comb to let the honey escape, 3. Honey from the honey comb is drained out using a simple manual rotation device, am

5 Honey is filtered and strained, 5. The honey is steamed to remove water content, 6. Honey is strained before bottling. 16 HARMONY TECH Mohd. Sharif One of the products is Wire-Cut Cookie Machine Model 1.0 has been commercialized to the market. The machine is fully mechanical without no programmable logic controller (PLC) to minimize the errors. The problem with fully mechanical machineries is that, it is difficult for the elderly to handle the machine and errors could not be minimized and eliminated during the production of the cookies. This problem leads to the increased in time required to produce the cookies for larger scale market. Technological solution for this problem would be to design and develop a PLC program into their wire-cut cookie machine to create a new model to be commercialized for the use of larger industries. They intended to commercialize new product, Model 2.0 with a PLC program that can enhance the production system. 2.00pm 17 ANJELITA ENTERPRISE Puan Indrasiswati Samsuddin ryan_fiqa@yahoo.com Cookies produces milky taste after it is stored more than 2 weeks, even when it is stored in sealed containers. Find a method to improve the manual process of producing biscuits, e.g. measuring spoon currently used in the biscuits production to maintain the size of biscuits. The purpose is to increase the production of biscuits to meet customers demand am

During the process of bottling Sambal, glass bottles are prone to breaking during steaming process. The process of bottling Sambal is done manually am 19 CILI LEDANG ENTERPRISE En. Mohd. Firdaus Ismail Problems with chilies cultivation; need to frequently go to the garden to water and fertilize the plants by hand. Need to find an alternative method to the manual approach. Fertilizers are mixed & brewed manually; Need an alternative method to improvise and simplify the manual process. In corn crops, the corn plants are watered manually. Need an alternative method to simplify the manual process of watering corn plants. Agriculture Science 5.00pm 20 DOANA FROZEN FOOD Puan Rubiah Mahamud Curry puff skin doesn t last long. Company is currently using semi-automatic machine in producing curry puffs. The problem is probably due to temperature setting or mixing methods. The process of filling curry puffs is done manually and it affected the product quality. For example, the curry puff skin becomes perforated due to improper temperature setting. 3.30pm 21 ENAK EA FOOD Encik Sanif Abd. Rahman Rempeyek produced by this company provide supplies to individual orders and MyDin supermarket. Unfortunately, the product cannot meet the demand from consumers because the production is slow and Food Tech 2.00pm

7 uses a manual process. The long production time resulted in limited number of product quantity per day. Need an alternative approach to increase the production of Kuih Bangkit. 22 HAMIRUDIN ENTERPRISE Hamirudin Giman hamirudinenterprise@gmail.com The production time for producing biscuits is longer than expected due to the manual process. The long production time resulted in limited number of product quantity per day. Need to find an alternative where the process can be automated. Seeking an alternative approach to simplify and improve the packaging for cookies; cookies become become slightly stale after being packed. Food Tech 3.30pm 23 KFM UTAMA ENTERPRISE Puan Bakiyah Johari The fish balls break apart easily (before or after frozen) and this affects the shape and look before they are even sold. - The current packaging also appears to contribute to the cracking of the fish balls as it is not vacuumed packed, making the fish balls vulnerable to cracks if not handled with care. - Improvise the fish ball ingredients that can help them to stay intact under any condition, including a fine texture, shine, and elasticity. 5.00pm 24 KIMYANA HOUSE OF CONFECTIONERIES Puan Zainurulasikin Mohd Yasin kimyanahoc@gmail.com Improve product shelf life and last longer from fungal attack - Tiramisu was only able to last for 7 days starting from the day of manufacture. The tiramisu are prone to mold and damage after the first week 5.00pm

8 of production. - A new dessert 'Mini Macroo', has the same problem with shelf life; it can only last for 1 month from the date it was produced. After a month, the product becomes moldy and damaged. 25 KOPERASI PENULIS DAN PEMBACA MUAR BERHAD Encik Buhari Badron sukppm20@yahoo.com MiSiput is one of the products. The equipment and machinery used to produce this noodle is made from China and there are no spare parts available. Parts of the machine are made from non-corrosion resistant materials. This means that the noodles produced are exposed to rust in the machine component. The noodles turn into brown color due to rust that is stuck on the noodles when the machine operates. This situation has ruined the quality of the noodles production. Another example is that the rollers from the machine are made from non-rust resistant material. The rollers have turned to black as a result of the reaction of water and air. Noodles are dried using a traditional method; it takes between 6 to 8 hours or even longer depending on the weather condition. Every single strand of noodles needs to be in fully dry condition. Wet noodles will only lead to other problems such as microbial contamination due to moisture, undesirable quality of final product and losses in production where it need to be disposed. An alternative method or device is needed to improvise and quicken the process of drying noodles, help to reduce production cost in terms of time and energy. Food Tech 8.30am

9 26 SARAOGE CONFECTIONERY Puan Roziah Ikhsan eshop The company needs to modify the existing machine, including the conveyor system in order to avoid the products from being damaged. When the cake comes out of the mold, the desired cake shape does not meet the original specifications. The cake from the right mold and left mold are different sizes. The finishing cake shapes are also a little bit rough on the surface. Shelf life of the product is also highlighted by the company where cake becomes soggy. A proper method of packaging with complete packaging equipment is also needed. Food Tech 10.00am 27 MH FUTURE TRADING Puan Amanisyahadah Saad nanee_pheonix@yahoo.com This company produces peanut biscuits. Currently, all manufacturing processes are done manually. Nuts are crushed and then mixed with sugar and oil. All ingredients are then mixed manually until smooth. Finally, mixture is formed into a desired shape. 3.30pm Problem: When the process is done manually, - It takes a longer time to produce the biscuits. - One of the problems is that the beans that have been mixed become slightly stale and unpalatable if it is packaged for a long period. - It is also difficult to get the perfect size and even thickness for each biscuits. - Use and requires a lot of arm strength. - Production is slow.

10 28 KFM UTAMA ENTERPRISE Nazoha Hashim Currently, this company uses a weighing machine before they package the products. One of the issues is that the weighing machine produces uneven/ incorrect weight for each packaged products. The weighing machine needs to produce a uniform product weight. The company hopes that the existing machine can be modified so that it can provide a consistent weight to all packaged products. The raw materials used for making the spices do not last long. This problem is probably caused by how the raw materials are stored. The company needs storage technology for raw materials to ensure it could last longer without affecting the quality of the products. Food Tech 8.30am 29 PERUSAHAAN KEROPOK TELUK WAWASAN Puan Nor Lizah Mohd Zin Norlizah_zin@yahoo.com Producing keropok lekor balls is done manually. As a result, the rounded balls are not consistent; shape is uneven. The irregular shape of balls has affected the appearance and is less attractive. There needs to be a solution in order to produce consistent sized balls which meet the required specifications. In addition, various forms of shapes can also be produced using a designed mold, if possible. Keropok produced by the company does not last long. It can only last for three days without freezing. A study on food processing can be done to find ways to enable these products to be durable without freezing. Company would like to find a solution where the product can last for a week without affecting the quality of the product. Food Tech 11.30am

11 30 PERUSAHAAN MEE PT KARJO Encik Nordin Nasran In producing instant noodles, the time it takes for the dough to form into noodles after being blanched is 5-6 minutes. We need to find a solution where it takes only 2-3 minutes to form into noodles after being blanched, also by maintaining the size of 2 mm in diameter. The company has attempted to bleach the dough for 2-3 mins, but the required size was not achieved, although the size is 1 mm in diameter. Food Tech 11.30am 31 R&S AL FALAH ENTERPRISE Encik Abd. Rahim Selamat This company breeds quail eggs and quail meat. There are about 5 to 6 thousand breeded quails. The number of eggs the quails produce in one day is 1,500 pcs and the number of breeding meat the quail produces in one day is 200 grains. The total number of quail eggs brooded for a week is 1,400 eggs. The existing machine can only incubate 700 to 800 quail eggs, which is only 60% of the eggs from 1,400 quails eggs successfully hatched. Therefore, the company needs a quail egg hatching device/ incubator that can increase the percentage of hatching quail eggs. The device/ incubator should maintain the temperature for newly hatched birds, while also able to save the energy used during the incubation process. The device can also help boost the percentage of hatching quail eggs. 5.00pm

12 32 RAMUN FOOD INDUSTRIES (M) SDN BHD Encik Mahadir Sabtu The company produces various types of biscuits with different shapes. One of the problems is that the existing mold only produces one shape of biscuit while the production of biscuits is available in many forms. New mold parts and components should be designed and installed to mesh with the machine. The existing machine has three parts and one part of the machine does not work directly to support the production of biscuits. The current ordering/purchasing system should be upgraded to a more appropriate system to be run online. The high demand of the product has been overwhelming from within and outside the country. However, the limitations of the current system make it difficult to provide and sell the products to customers who are farther away. Food Tech Information Technology 2.00pm 33 RASHIDAH PRODUK Puan Nurul Nadia Mohd Ikhwan The process of cooking the paste is taking too long. In addition, the time it takes to dry the materials is 8 hours; just to make sure the product is dried to perfection and durability. The company is seeking an innovation of a paste cooking machine and dryer machine which can reduce the production process time (to 6 hours and below), shorten drying time, and produce longer shelf life products. Food Tech 2.00pm 34 GAH GLOBAL ENTERPRISE Encik Tauffik Effendy Yusoff fendy065@gmail.com Menambah baik mesin yang boleh digunakan untuk tiga keluaran minayk gamat tradisional, berangin dan panas. 3.30pm
