Our wonderful breakfast menu, including local sausages & our own cured bacon, is available until midday. Tapas and mezze are available from midday until 3.00pm & 6.00pm until 9.30pm. The staple ingredients on The Old Bakery menu are sourced from local suppliers, producers & farms. All other ingredients come from suppliers whom we know & trust.

A selection of tapas is usually ordered to combine to make a full meal. The serving of tapas is designed to encourage conversation because people are less focused upon eating an entire meal that is set before them & are free to enjoy the sociable experience of sharing food.

The bread ovens, dating from 1885 are still intact in the downstairs dining room. To uphold tradition, Georgio bakes three different types of bread here, on the premises every morning. All our breads are made by hand, using doves organic flour. Foccaccia - a fluffy, soft Italian flat bread made with lots of extra virgin olive oil Wholemeal bread - with mollasses, walnuts & mixed seeds. perfect with breakfast and great with hams & cheeses! Sour dough - made with rye flour, using natural yeast originally developed here at The Old Bakery

9 22107 A5 MENU BOOK:Layout 3 24/9/10 13:43 Page 9 Our cheese dishes... Manchego - 12 months cured, famous Spanish cheese, made from unpasteurised, Manchega sheeps milk. Ticklemore Goat - a wonderful crumbly textured mellow flavoured cheese with slight citrus notes. Valdeon - blue pasteurised cow & goat s milk cheese from the picos de Europa mountains, matured for three months in natural caves & wrapped in maple leaves. A strong, but not overpowering flavour - a little like Roquefort, but less salty. Beenleigh blue - Robin Congdon of Totnes aims to make this cheese less salty than it s French cousin, a complex fruity flavour.

Fouchtra Chevre - Fouchtra is made by the family Morin, celebrated makers of the traditional Cantal. It has a grayish rind with spots of white, yellow or red mould. The pate is supple with a deliciously silky texture & the taste is soft, delicate & unique. Pecorino Rosso months mature or semi- stagionato. The rind is naturally coloured with tomato pulp. Our tapas cheese are served with homemade quince jelly & our own breads
