1 Media Release DISCOVERY BAY LONGEST LUNCH ON THE BEACH INAUGURATED BY D DECK ON NOVEMBER 2013 Mediterranean gourmet menu by Michelin-Star celebrity chef Harlan Goldstein & live entertainment at fiesta tickets priced HK$1,988 (Hong Kong, 27 September 2013) Hong Kong s first ever Longest Lunch on the Beach will be inaugurated by Discovery Bay D Deck, Hong Kong s renowned oceanfront al fresco dining destination, on November 2013 (Saturday and Sunday). D Deck promises a gastronomic weekend fiesta on the popular privately-managed beach with a Mediterranean menu by Michelin-star celebrity chef Harlan Goldstein, live entertainment and free-flowing wine and champagne included in the ticket price of HK$1,988. The exquisite event is limited to 100 guests each day, with tickets available on a first come, first served basis from October 8 at Part of the ticket sales will be donated to the charity organisation Heifer International. From to 4 p.m. on 23 and 24 November, Tai Pak Beach in Discovery Bay will turn into a spectacular gastronomic carnival with the fiesta-style menu by Michelin-star chef Harlan Goldstein of Gold and The Strip House in Central and music on the beach. The gourmet feast begins with free flow canapés on the beach, appetizer of Forest Mushroom Tart, and Wild Rocket Salad with Castermagno Cheese; followed by Harlan Goldstein's main course options of BBQ-grilled Black Angus Rib-Eye Steak or Salmon Steak, with Mediterranean Farro Salad, Macadamia Nut Pesto and Roasted Garlic Jus; or Penne Pasta with Traditional Mediterranean Tomato & Basil sauce. Flamboyant dessert is Harlan G s new creation Yummy Yummy Chocolate Cake with Amaretto Custard and Popping Candy. The menu is complemented by free-flowing red and white fine wine and vintage champagne. On 23 November, the event will kick-off with the presence of Discovery Bay s unique themed attraction - The Bounty, a replica of the original HMAV Bounty built for the Hollywood film of the famous mutiny starring Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins. This event also echoes Hong Kong Tourism Board s Wine and Dine Festival promoting Hong Kong s sophisticated gastronomic scene through the month of November. Over the same weekend, visitors can also enjoy the Sunday open-air market at DB Plaza - Handmade Hong Kong in Discovery Bay, while at DB North Plaza there is Family Kingdom providing giant inflatable games for kids on both days.
