2 Message from the Chair May brings the flowers, the birds and a chance to enjoy the full beauty of Spring in Victoria. Some Important things to mention: Art at the University Club The Club is issuing a call to our members for proposals for temporary loan exhibitions. In the proposal we ask for a brief biography of the artist, an expression of intent regarding the theme or intent of the exhibition, and an electronic portfolio of work proposed for exhibition. The Club`s Art Committee will select works for temporary exhibition based on the following criteria: Appropriateness of works to the décor of the club, their safety and security. Quality of works Interests of the membership Relevance of the works to the overall mission of the art program Balancing a variety of media, style and themes in the exhibitions. The Club will publish a calendar of art events and activities through its Newsletter and on its website. Please submit your proposals to the University Club at reservat@uvic.ca. For further information about this program please contact the University Club office. Pond Remediation Our pond is about to get a bit of tender loving care over the next couple of weeks to make it even more special for the summer so expect the birds to be chirping even louder when it is completed. Have you had a chance to join us for a Hard Days night on Fridays? Every Friday, with the exception of May 2 nd we are featuring entertainment with no cover charge. On May 9 th we are featuring a Quiz Night and May 30 th is the grand opening celebration of our patio. The Sutcliffes return June 6 th for our annual lobster fest.
