Yellow-green base becoming yellowish and covered with russet patches, sometimes broad stripes or a red brown blush. Flesh pale yellow, solid, crisp with acid/sweet aromatic flavour. Looks a bit like a stone. Appears to be more vigorous than Pitmaston Groves Research Station sourced but some doubt over authenticity. Vigorous and productive Famous apple grown from seed imported from France. Original tree blew over in 1817 but propped up and lived until Parent of Cox s Orange Pippin, Sturmer GP of Kidd s Orange Red and GGP of Gala plus numerous others. Has a high vitamin C content. Really good apple.

White, solid meaty flesh, slightly acidic, tender and juicy, sometimes with red straining under skin. Pretty on the tree, even after leaves have fallen. Also a lot of cider trees available. If you are after a cider tree just ask and we will see if it is available. There is only a limited supply of some cultivars so get in early to be guaranteed of your choice.
