2 Wines of Italy Since we started trading on St. Augustine Street in 2011, we ve always been very careful in choosing our wines. Our list is 100% Italian & boasts over 80 Italian wines, spanning from the German speaking district in the north right down the Apennines to the heel of Puglia. A lot of our wines come from small artisan vineyards where the grapes are hand crafted with the utmost care. As well as the best known grapes like Pinot Grigio & Montepulciano, we stock some very interesting grape varieties such as Cocacciola d Abruzzo & Marzemino from Alto Adige & the interesting Sicilian grapes; nerello mascalese & nerello cappuccio. With 16 wines by the glass, don t hesitate to ask your server for a taste before choosing your wine. CERASUOLO ROSE Luigi Valori, 2013 Pink fruit, flowers & strawberries, stunning nose. Another great wine produced from Valori. GAVI Castellari Bergaglio, Salluvii, % cortese grapes, straw yellow, green apple & almonds. Well balanced, very dry with good acidity, counter balanced by a fine fruitiness. FRIULANO Friuli Colli Orientali, Visintini, 2013 (organic) Youthful summer wine, fresh & zesty with a steely finish. 36 COCACCIOLA Tenuta Ulisse, Abruzzo, 2014 A rare Italian grape variety, intense nose, tropical & stone fruit. Good minerality, produced in concrete vats.

Elegantly smooth. 31 MARZEMINO Roberta Fugatti, Trentino, 2013 Comparable to Pinot Noir with its aromas of violet, red berries & spice. NEGROAMARO I Traturri, Puglia, % negroamaro showing dark cherry, black fruits, spice, olive, chocolate & wild herbs. MERLOT Friuli Colli Orientali, Visintini, 2012 (organic) Elegant Northern red, on the slopes of the Slovenian border, cherry bouquet, youthful & harmonious. CHIANTI CLASSICO Vignole, DOCG, 2010 Cherry fruit, sweet spice, wild herbs & good minerality. Real depth & good firm tannins.

ALTO ADIGE PINOT BIANCO 37 Cantina Caldaro, Weissburgunder, 2014 Produced in the German speaking district of Sudtirol in Northern Italy, an intensely flinty & floral wine. GEWURZTRAMMINER 40 Tramin, 2014 Richly textured flavours of passion fruit, mango, Turkish delight & sweet spices. The finish is long, broad & incredibly refined. VENETO VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO 34 Domini Veneti, 2013 (biodynamic & organic) Lively acidity, youthful red fruit with sour cherry & herbal notes. RIPASSO, VALPOLICELLA 45 Classico Superiore, Azienda Agricola Scriani DOC, 2014 Intense, spicy, plumy with new oak. Bright & well-structured with layers of cherry fruit.

AMARONE 90 Valpolicella Classico, Azienda Agricola Scriani DOC, 2010 Full of ripe, sweet & earthy: plums & tobacco. Round, rich & impressive structure. Long, with a perfume finish. FRIULI RONCO DELLA CHIESA 69 Friuli, 2009 Produced only in the best vintages. It is a sensational Friulano with a unique finesse, elegance & complexity. SCHIOPPETTINO 55 Friuli Colli Orientali, 2011 Schioppettino meaning little gunshot in local dialect, is an indigenous & rare grape variety from the North Italian/ Slovenian border. Medium bodied, deep-coloured & aromatic on the nose with violets & red berries. COLLIO ROSSO 62 Friuli, 2008 Merlot with a dash of Cabernet Sauvignon, shows minerals, tar & balsamic flavours, yet is ripe & soft with fine tannins.

PASSERINA 36 Lucrezia, IGP, 2013 (organic) 100% Passerina varietal wine from Le Caniette, a boutique organic producer based near Ascoli. Citrus fruit with taut mineral undertones. PECORINO OAKED 49 Io Sono Gaia (Non Sono Lucrezia) Offida DOCG, 2012 Aged in oak barrique. tropical fruit notes with a spicy edge. hazelnut, toast & lively citrus finish. ROSSO PICENO Rosso Bello, Le Canniette, 2013 Dark cherry, plum & prune. Chocolate, tobacco, sweet spice & wild herbs. 33 ROSSO PICENO, VIGNA DI GINO 39 San Lorenzo, 2013 A combination of style & complexity, character with good depth of flavour. ROSSO PICENO RISERVA 53 Morrelone, Le Caniette, 2007 Another super wine from the Le Caniette stable. Made with Montepulciano & Sangiovese it has deep flavours of dark cherry, chocolate, wild herbs & smokey hints. UMBRIA GRECHETTO Fiorfiore, Roccafiore, 2013 A great wine from a lesser known grape: fruity, floral & with a salty mineral backbone. 43

VALORI MONTEPULCIANO 67 Vigna Sant Angelo, DOCG, 2007 Luigi Valori s single vineyard Riserva wines made from his oldest vines. Full & rich yet showing great elegance & restraint. Dark cherry & berry fruit, violet, smoky spicy notes & lots of dark chocolate. PUGLIA FIANO 38 Michele, Biancardi, 2015 (organic) Plump, peachy fruit with a touch of honey & spice. PRIMITIVO 39 Gioia del Colle, Puglia, 2012 (organic) Meaty Southern, full bodied & fresh, bursting with red fruit & pomegranate. NEGROAMARO 90 Graticciaia, Puglia DOCG, % negroamaro from year old vines, a unique wine that has been produced from red grapes that have been sun-dried on the roof of the castello on the Vallone estate-only produced in outstanding years & in limited qualities.

9 PIEMONTE ROERO ARNEIS 38 Guidobono, DOCG, 2014 Arneis in local dialect means little rascal. A difficult grape to grow but one that produces some amazing wines: plenty of ripe peachiness & a zesty backbone. GAVI DI GAVI la Meirana, Bruno Broglia DOCG, % Cortese grown from hand picked grapes. Crafted with the utmost care. Rich texture & good body structure. 42 BARBERA D ASTI DOCG 37 Bera, 2013 Rich, silky & full bodied with tobacco & dark berry fruit. A perfect match with our gamey & red meat dishes. A big & bold red. DOLCETTO D'ALBA 38 Pira Luigi, 2014 One of Piemonte's new superstars. Explosive notes of dark cherries, violets & strawberries. Medium acidity, low tannins. A juicy fleshly & fresh Dolcetto from this difficult vintage. BARBERA D ALBA 45 Castello di Verdunno, DOC, 2013 Deep & complex barbera packed with crunchy dark fruit. Highly recommended. NEBBIOLO D ALBA 48 la Ganghija, DOC, 2013 A genuine baby Barolo, with scents of blackberry plum, liquorice & spice. BARBARESCO RABAJA 82 Castello di Verduno, DOCG, 2010 Probably boasts one of the best crus for Barbaresco in the area. The Rabajà shows all the character of this iconic cru, excellent minerality, with notes of balsamic, spice & rich dark fruit. BAROLO, BOLMIDA SILVANO 85 Vigne dei Fantina, DOCG, 2010 Hand picked nebbiolo grapes. Toasted wood veneer over classic flavours with well rounded tannins & great structure. BAROLO, CAVOLOTTO 160 Bricco Boschis Cru, DOCG, 2010 Crafted from 50 yr old vines. Ripe cherry, liquorice & spice flavours.

MORELLINO DI SCANSANO 39 Ribeo, Toscana, 2011 Local dialect for sangiovese, this Morellino is a blend of Sangiovese & Alicante Nero. Aged for 12 months in concrete tanks. 2 glasses gambero rosso 2014 ALICANTE NERO & CARIGNANO (1 LITRE BOTTLE) 44 Un Litro, Ampeleia, 2014 From the Tuscan coast, this blend of Alicante Nero & Carignano is delicate, floral & savoury & totally addictive. The perfect wine for laid-back sipping. ROSSO DI MONTALCINO 59 Banditella, Col d Orcia DOCG, 2010 The only one of their Montalcino wines that is aged in French oak. Deep in colour. Notes of tobacco, tea leaves & ripe dark fruit aromas. CHIANTI CLASSICO RISERVA 65 Vignole, DOCG, 2008 This stunning Chianti comes from a small 12hA estate run by the Nistri brothers Massimo & Fabrizio. This is made with 90% Sangiovese & 10% Cabernet Sauvignon & aged for 24 months in French oak barriques. A truly contemplative wine with great structure & complexity. BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 100 Col d Orcia DOCG, 2010 The Col d'orcia estate estate produces stunning hand crafted Brunellos with the utmost care. It flows from the glass with impressive depth & persistence with its richly textured dark fruit. Liquorice, dark raspberries & tar make an appearance on the intense finish. SUPER TUSCAN 130 Cignale, 2003/ % Cabernet, 10% Merlot. Rich dark fruit, smoky notes, game & wild herbs. Aged for 24mths in new French Oak.

CAMPANIA FALANGHINA 35 Irpinia, DOC, 2014 (organic) Organic & family produced. White peach, & stone fruit mingle with a robust citrus & mineral finish with sweet spice aromas. FIANO DI AVELLINO 43 DOCG, 2014 This stunning example of Fiano has citrus & tropical fruit notes with good mineral complexity. Long lasting finish with a steely & smoky minerality; from the volcanic soils of the Avellino region. GRECO DI TUFO 45 Bambinuto, 2013 Crafted by the passionate Marilena Aufiero using traditional methods, this wine has incredible minerality & concentrated citrus fruit. TAURASI, AGLIANICO 79 DOCG, 2009 Grown on the volcanic slopes around the village of Taurasi & aged for 18 months in new oak. Dark cherry fruit, tobacco, smoke & chocolate combine to make arguably Campania s finest red. An absolute stonker of a wine!

Tangy minerality with a sea kissed finish. ETNA ROSSO 46 Guardoilvento, 2013 Grown in black, mineral rich, lava sand. This Nerello mascalese is lightly coloured with characteristics of strawberry & raspberry. NERO D AVOLA 48 Nerojbleo, Gulfi, 2010 (organic) Great fruit character & floral notes, plus orange skin & wood bark. Sweet, rounded cherry & red berry fruit palate. CERASUOLO 49 Gulfi, DOCG, 2014 (organic) Made with Nero d Avola & Frappato grapes. Deep rich & sweet black fruit flavours, that last & last, buoyed by the vibrant, balancing acidity. AMMASSO 55 Montalto, IGP, 2010 A rich & powerful blend of Nero d Avola, Nerello Mascalese, Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon. An Amarone of the south, a percentage of the grapes are dried in a Fruttaia concentrating the flavours & texture. NERO D AVOLA 85 Neromaccarj, Gulfi, 2010 (organic) Ripe red cherries & dark chocolate. Fresh acidity, powerful nose & a fine finish. SARDEGNA VERMENTINO DI GALLURA SCIALA 39 Sardegna, 2013 Spicy & super zesty in the mouth. White flower, peach & jasmine on the nose. Good minerality, edgy with a clean crisp finish.
