3 Who we are and what we do. Simple.Seasonal.Swell. Lip Service Catering is an independently owned business committed to sustainability and local purveyors. We use environmentally friendly practices, packaging, and composting whenever possible. We believe in using simple, healthy, organic and all-natural ingredients. We use these ingredients in everything we make; whether it s our hand-crafted sandwiches and salads or our delicious buffet style meals. Lip Service is able to accommodate vegetarian, vegan and most diet restrictions. We love to create locavore menus and invite you to call on us for a customized menu using the local farms we love. 4 Catering Policies Guarantee Participate Count: A guarantee for the minimum number of participants attending an event will be needed 5 full business days prior to the event date. The guarantee can be increased up to 48 hours (Monday-Friday) in advance of the event. An increase in the number of participants within 48 hours of the event is subject to product and staff availability. The minimum number of participants given 5 business days out will be invoiced, except when the participant count has been increased. Booking: For groups of 100 or more we may require a 50% deposit. For new clients a contract and a credit card may be necessary. Reservations for your event should be made as early as possible to enable us to best serve your group. We understand that it is not always possible to guarantee exact guest counts when first booking. We allow numbers on estimated guest counts to be reduced as follows: 15 business days prior to the event decreases to a maximum of 15% of the original booking number will be allowed 10 business days prior to the event no decreases permitted. Increases to the guest count can be made up to 48 hours prior to the event Billing: Payment is due on the day of the event unless arrangements have been made in advance. We accept payment by check or credit card. Finance charges may apply for overdue accounts. Inclement Weather: If the University officially closes during adverse weather, or threat of impending inclement weather, the client will not incur any charges associated with their event. If the University remains open or has yet to officially close, but the client makes the decision to cancel their event for any weather-related reason, they will be required to inform the caterer 48 hours in advance for groups of less than 100 & 72 hours in advance for group of more than 100, to avoid any charges. If the client does not cancel within the designated time period, they are subject to be billed at the caterer s discretion based on costs incurred. All other scenarios will revert to the normal cancellation policy as stated in the menu. Page 4 - lipservice-catering.com (919)

5 Cancellations: We hope that the need to cancel your event does not arise, but if it should, please call us as soon as possible. Cancellations will be accepted a minimum of ten (10) business days prior to the event with no charge. Cancellations with less notice than stated may result in a charge of 50% of the event cost. Numbers cannot be reduced at the time of cancellation. Cancellation fees will be calculated at 100% of the event cost if cancelled 48 hours or less prior to the event. Leftover Food Policy: In accordance with the Wake County Health Department recommendations regarding food health & safety, it is McKimmon Center policy that all leftover food remains the property of the caterer and cannot be removed from the catered event space by the client. This policy is intended to limit the risk of foodborne illness due to improper handling or storage of leftover food items. All leftover food and drink will be disposed of by the caterer at the conclusion of the meal function. Staff Allowance: All event prices are based on a 2 hour time frame, 1.5 hour time frame for receptions. Additional time is charged at a rate of $1.00 per person per hour or part thereof for groups fewer than 100 and $.50 for groups over 100. If your event requires additional wait staff a charge of $25.00 per hour/per staff member will be added. All meals will be ready to serve 15 minutes prior to the predetermined event start time. Linens: Standard buffet linens are included for no additional charge. Basic Linens for Dining Tables - $12.00 per table Linens are available in classic white and solid colors, upon request. Linen Upgrade: Many styles are available. Price varies depending on linens chosen. China: Standard China Service - $8.00 per guest Standard china service includes; white china dinner plate, salad plate, and dessert plate, water goblet, and silverware.
