5 A HANDS-ON MIXOLOGY CLASS (2 HOURS, AVAIL MON THU 12PM 4PM) MIN 12, MAX OF 15 GUESTS The Locale Mixologist will present three different cocktails while talking about the story behind each and explaining the various preparation techniques. Guests will be taught how to make three different cocktails while getting the chance to prepare one of those themselves. Cocktails: Caipirinha (pronounces kay-pee-ree-nya) - The iconic Brazlian cocktail Learn about the Brazilian spirit cachaça and the possible variations with different spirits and fruits. Martini - We will travel back almost 200 years ago to understand the origin of the 007 cocktail 80`s/90`s cocktails - An era of sweet and colorful cocktails. Guests will enjoy all three drinks, appetizers to eat during the seminar, a drink list with all the recipes they learned, as well as a bar kit* to take home. Bar kit consists of one Caipirinha muddler plus one Caipirinha glass

6 COOKING WITH ROBYN HALF-DAY (2.5-3 HOURS) Robyn is an award-winning cookbook author, nutritionist, culinary instructor, and a long time Food Editor of Diabetes Forecast Magazine and the Health & Wellness Editor for The Daily Basics. She has written 17 cookbooks and has been profiled by many media outlets including CNN, LifetimeTV, Food Network, CBS news, Discovery Channel, Daytime TV, ESPN, Fox News, Martha Stewart Radio, Sirius Radio and so much more. She is currently the culinary instructor for the University of Miami and teaches private in home cooking classes, and offers private chef services and private nutritional counseling for Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. A typical class: For both types of classes (hands-on & demo), Robyn starts out with a nice intro of what the students will be learning and will speak about the history and origin of the foods. Then she goes into a knife skills presentation which everyone loves (and critical for the hands on classes) and then if it's hands on, we break into groups and under her direction, the menu is produced. If a demonstration format is selected, Robyn still gets the students involved, but will prepare each and every dish, breaking it all down by steps and techniques. A full recipe packet is provided for everyone. It's an informal fun, educational & entertaining experience with lots of room for many questions.
