2 Letter Parts K Rosewood Haettenschweiler Haettenschweiler is one of my favorite fonts because it is simple but bold. The sharp corners make this font very direct and in your face. Rosewood is one of my favorite fonts because it is different. Rosewood is made up of shapes within letters and those elements alone make the letters look complex and intricate. M Copper Std. I like Copper Std. because it is a bold typeface. The simplistic style makes it east to work with and makes it universal. GJQ Snap I like this font because of its edginess. It is very bold and it has sharp edges to make it stand out. Braggadocio Braggadocio is one of my favorite fonts because of the contrast within the letter itself. The drastic changes in lines make the font memorable. Blackoak I like Blackoak because it is bold and makes a statement. After shifting the letter around I realized there is another shape within this shape that I never realized before.

3 Type Specimen Chaparral Pro Specimen Short History Created by Adobe type designer Carol Twombly. Chaparral combines the legibility of slab serif designs popularized in the 19th century with the grace of 16th-century roman book lettering. Twombly is distinctive for many reasons, and her story has an element of mystery to it as well. She was a promising student at the Rhode Island School of Design. One of her professors was the type designer Charles Bigelow, the designer of the Lucida, Apple Chicago, Apple Geneva and Wingdings fonts, among others. Twombly made two other designs Mirare and Bitstream. Unlike geometric slab serif designs, Chaparral has varying letter proportions. Gives it an accessible and friendly appearance in all weights from light to bold. Like the droughtresistant brush that blooms on the arid coastal range near Twombly s California home, Chaparral s highly functional design is surprisingly beautiful. Carol Twombly released her last typeface, Chaparral, in an extensive family of fonts.

4 Letter Redesign PCurvy Wispy Semi-bold Magic Fantasy Mystic Pointy Slender Old Medieval= Solution: A stable letter with more structured edges. I chose the letter P for its interesting curves and points. The letter seems to be sort of fantasy-esqe style which makes it really interesting to look at. The serif makes this letter have an old time renaissance feel.

The colored background loses its power once they are the same size. 16 I really like the sidebar background color. I think it adds more interest than if it draws eyes to it and mixes well with the body copy. it was just a plain background. It also ties in the main theme of blue and green. 3 The box behind the headlines makes the headline pop while also tying in the color from the main photo I added this headline as to offset these photos. I aligned the headline with the photos 4 Making the intext quote a different color makes the quote known and adds more color to the overall layout. This look is also repeated in the first sentence of the body copy. 5 The margin between the top of the body copy and the Tropical Paradise box is quite small. I did this to maximize the amount of text which can fit on the page. 6 The body copy text is Joanna Nova Sans. The typeface is sans to make it appear more modern. While this type does look modern it also looks fun and inviting. 7 I aligned all of the text boxes to hit the bottom on the same line. It makes them look more cohesive. It seems like the most natural style of text to go with and I wanted to the layout to feel modern but natural. 14 I added three pictures to the sidebar. I had two waterfall photos and one beach. I separated the two waterfall photos in order to keep the sidebar balanced. 13 I decided not to add captions to these photos while also keeping a larger margin between the photos. I think the large margin makes them feel separate yet together. 12 The stroke around each of the picture boxes is a 2 point stroke. The 2 point stroke added enough definition while also keeping it subtle. 11 The page numbers are also written in the Joanna Nova Sans font but with different font thickness. The page numbers give the number of the page, the name of the magazine, and the issue month and year.

On the home screen there is also a slideshow with pictures that really embody Wartburg College. Some of the tabs such as the Academics Tab are equipped with drop down menus to allow the user to navigate to different screens. If you scroll over the Academics tab and click on Courses it will take you to the screen in the bottom left-hand corner. Students are able to view their schedules for the current term and for past and future terms under this menu item.
