1 A few notes & reminders: TONIGHT, Thursday, Oct 27 - Trunk or Treat - 6-7pm at Jackson Parking Lot Friday, Oct 28 - Inservice Day - No school for students Tuesday, Nov 1 - PTA Meeting in library - 6:00pm Our school is running low on paper for teachers to use to copy materials for the classroom. PTA is requesting donations of paper reams for the school. You can order on Amazon through Amazon Smile (PTA gets a donation) and have it shipped directly to the school. Saves you time with delivery and supports our school! Thank you!

The parking lot will be blocked off with cones letting only those handing out candy in to park.

2 Trunk or Treat Is Tonight! 6-7pm Only those handing out treats may arrive between 5:25 and 5:45 to set up. We ask that those just coming to participate in the trunk or treat DO NOT arrive before 5:50, so that cars trying to get in the parking lot to hand out treats can get in and set up. The parking lot will be blocked off with cones letting only those handing out candy in to park. Make sure to stop by PTA table to drop off service project donations, grab a treat and hot cocoa, vote for your favorite trunk, and guess the weight of the pumpkins. At 6:00 all the kids will go around once to get treats from all the trunks. After the kids have all gone around once we will meet in the middle for a Monster Mash and everyone can show off their costumes and ghoulish dance moves. Best decorated trunk/stand will be announced, along with pumpkin guess winners at the end. If you win, stop back at the PTA table to claim your prize before you leave. CARS CANNOT LEAVE THE PARKING LOT UNTIL ALL KIDS ARE IN CARS OR SAFELY OUT OF THE PARKING LOT. Contact Lori Weber at or lori_a_weber@hotmail.com with any questions.

7 Jackson PTA Service Project List of Items to Bring in WAYPOINT Kick off: Oct. 27 th at the Trunk or Treat Event Or Bring items to school starting Nov. 1 st -7 th For our SERVICE DAY on November 18 th, Jackson will be collecting items and packaging kits for Waypoint and St Luke s Hospital. We are gathering hygiene items for Waypoint, who gives out 450 hygiene kits a month and items for the Ronald McDonald family room at St. Luke s Hospital. We are encouraging kids to use their allowance or do jobs around the house in order to purchase items for others in need. The goal is to encourage an attitude and awareness of the importance of service in our community. Our goal for the Waypoint kits will be to put together enough items for 100 kits. We hope to provide St Luke s with items for 30 kits. Below is a list of items to bring in by grade level. Kindergarten: Toothbrushes and Toothpaste (kids and adult sizes) 1 st grade: Soap, Body wash and Body Lotion (all regular sizes) 2 nd grade: Baby wash; Baby shampoo and Baby lotion 3 rd grade: disinfecting wipes (like Clorox); baby wipes; travel size laundry soap 4 th grade: travel size body soap, lotion, toothpaste; travel size or smaller shampoo & conditioner 5 th grade: Deodorant (men s and women s); regular size shampoo & conditioner (for all hair types)!

UPDATE on FALL NON-Fundraiser As of Oct. 4 th, our total for this event was around $8,000 and we are still awaiting a few more matching funds from local companies.

9 UPDATE on FALL NON-Fundraiser As of Oct. 4 th, our total for this event was around $8,000 and we are still awaiting a few more matching funds from local companies. Our goal was to reach $10,000 for this year and we are SO CLOSE with ~ 50 families participating. PTA will be carrying this over next year in order to reach the total of $25,000 for a new piece of equipment. As we move forward, PTA is looking for someone to oversee GRANT FUNDING. This can be looking for local grant opportunities for Jackson in order to supplement our current budget. This would involve time on the computer searching for opportunities.
