Right off the bat, we have 10 hospitality spaces in our Ballpark by the Bay. Completed in 2005 at a cost of $25 million, Whataburger Field possesses modern amenities and clever design features. The Hooks focus on exemplary customer service in a family-friendly environment night after night. Here you can see the Major League stars of tomorrow tonight! Seventy-seven former Hooks have advanced to the big leagues, including players like Hunter Pence, Jose Altuve, Dallas Keuchel, and George Springer. Intimate seating and accessible players give you ample autograph opportunities. The stadium occupies land once dominated by cotton warehouses at the Port of Corpus Christi. Its architectural attributes, from mammoth wood beams to corrugated siding, pay tribute to the site s heritage. The scoreboard in left-center field, topped by a year-old, 972 square-foot Daktronics video board, is framed by antique cotton presses, one of which dates to the 1920s. During games, large oceangoing vessels and their tiny tugboat escorts navigate the port s ship channel, which runs behind the stadium compound. Ships clear the iconic Harbor Bridge (1959), a colorfully-lit backdrop on warm and breezy summer evenings. 17 HOOKS FUNdraising It s all about improving community involvement and raising funds for the organizations that make our the Coastal Bend so great. Over $400,000 has been raised with over 130 groups participating in our fundraising programs. This is an incentive-driven initiative that is designed to generate revenue for local schools, teams & non-profits while increasing exposure and rewarding those who work so hard for their cause. Participants and community partners work together to use Corpus Christi Hooks Baseball as an exciting way to set goals, meet goals and exceed expectations.
