2 INTRODUCTION The Riverway Moonlight Markets will be held monthly from May until December, usually two weeks after the Strand Night Markets. It will have a slightly up market bohemian feel creating a sense of special occasion for patrons. This will be achieved through the natural low lighting attributes of the Riverway complex including its existing lighting, supplemented with fairy lighting in strategic positions to create a twilight ambience. Similar to the Strand Night Markets there will be a number of food vendors to make the markets a dining destination on top of being a goods and wares destination. Another drawcard to attract patrons and retain them for a longer period during the markets will be appropriate entertainment for the markets identity including a staple of folk artists, supplemented by community groups demonstrations and other entertainment specific to those groups throughout the year. Families will be attracted to the markets using a combination of methods including: Childrens entertainment, School based competitions for art etc, Lucky Door prize of a children s item, Patrons will also be drawn to the Riverway Complex to utilise the other facilities at the complex and will be encouraged to do so. NATURE OF THE RIVERWAY MOONLIGHT MARKETS Family focus Unique identity by way of lighting and other unique activities. Location specific focus to the Upper Ross, the Bohle, Kirwan, The Northern Beaches, Aitkenvale and the inner west, Mundingburra, Mt Louisa, and Kalynda Chase The markets will become a hub for both sales and family entertainment The markets will infuse themselves into the local calendar and become a regular success DIVE IN MOVIES Townsville Rotary Markets are currently in negotiations with council to include the popular Dive in Movies on the same night as the markets the place to be each month.

3 MARKETS LOCATION The Riverway Moonlight Markets will be situated on the Village Green section of the Riverway complex with some sites radiating outwards along paths leading to the Village Green. 4 Invitation For Expression Of Interest I would like to introduce you to an excellent opportunity to grow your business at the soon to be launched Riverway Moonlight Markets. The Riverway Moonlight Markets inaugural event is planned for the 22nd of May 2015 and will occur on every third Friday night of each month up to and including December You are invited to participate in the inaugural event and secure your place now and in future Riverway Moonlight Markets Townsville Rotary Markets expect significant interest and positions will quickly be booked out! STALL CHOICES There will be 100 stalls comprising of 80 general wares stalls in various site sizes and 20 food stalls in the middle Food and Entertainment Court. The emphasis will be on family so there will be community entertainment and involvement, meaning good crowds. The initial events will be heavily promoted to ensure that Riverway Moonlight Markets soon becomes the place to be. If you would like to be a stallholder at the Riverway Moonlight Markets, fill out the attached form and hand it to the Volunteers at your next markets, or Christine.

5 Riverway Moonlight Markets Fact Sheet Dates of Markets in 2015 Usually third Friday of the month 22 May, 19 June, 17 July, 28 August, 18 September, 16 October, 20 November, 18 December Trading hours 5pm-9pm Bump in 12 noon until 4.30pm Bump out 9.30pm until 10.30pm A traffic plan will be given to all stallholders nearer to the event. Stallholder Parking A dedicated stallholder parking area is set up behind the stadium. The area is well lit. Security Council security staff will be on site for the duration of the event and bumpout. Site Sizes (metre frontage*) and pricing Pool Side Stalls Pathside Stalls Standard Site 3 metre $40 $50 Large Site 6 metre $80 $100 Immense Site 9 metre $120 $150 Food Court Sites 6 metre $130 *Depth of site varies, from a minimum of 3 meters for pool front sites to up to 9 meters for most other sites Insurance All stallholders must have their own public liability coverage, or otherwise pay $5 to be covered by Rotary s policy. Food Vendors must have their own Public liability insurance.

6 Fact Sheet (continued) Gazebos Stallholder owned and installed gazebos are permitted in all sites. Lighting and Power All stallholders are responsible for their own lighting and power. Unlike the Strand Night Markets there are no high power floodlights in the area, and it is recommended that stallholders source their own lighting plant. This is an opportunity (like say the Mindl Beach Sunset Markets in Darwin) for stallholders to use colourful and eye catching lighting to make their stalls the centre of attention. All Path-side stalls may fit low noise, low emission generator sets can be positioned behind their sites (similar to the Hill sites at the Strand). Pool side stalls are limited to battery powered lighting. Food and Entertainment Court The Food and Entertainment Court will the centre of the Markets. It will be fitted with 30 tables and 120 chairs, and mood lighting. The paid entertainment will be focussed on this area. Promotion The first three Riverway Moonlight Markets will feature significant advertising to ensure that crowds build quickly. We are also endeavouring in involve local sporting groups, community groups and schools to increase the ownership of the event by the community. RIverway has plenty of room to stage supporting activities.
