1 Proudly Presents Our Menu The History of Wyndham Cache Our founders, Aliye (Julie) Ramadan was born in Cyprus (1938) and migrated to Australia in Irfan (John) Ahmed was born in Cyprus (1928) and migrated to Australia in Julie met John in Melbourne and married in 1955, the very first Turkish Cypriot couple to meet and marry in Melbourne, Australia. They both came from a country with very little, where each day was about whether you were going to eat rather than what you were going to eat. Owning their own farm, where they could produce food to feed their family was their shared dream. In 1970, they bought this piece of land and began to turn their dream into reality. They began with a menagerie of livestock, producing food to feed the family and the many families in the area. John continued to work as a truck driver during the day and Julie s role was to look after the animals and their two sons Brian and Hilmi. After many years of hardship, hard work and heart felt dedication, the foundation was laid. Today, another two generations of the Ahmed family Brian, Nuge, Hilmi, Danyel and Renay are continuing their legacy in supplying quality food to all who visit. While our family farm may look significantly different to the one of many years ago, the principles that have made it a success have not changed. In 2014 the Kondinin Group and ABC Rural hosted the fifth Australian Farmer of the Year Awards where our business was successful in three categories. We won Diversification Farmer of the Year and came runner up in Egg Farmer of the Year and overall Australian Farmer of the Year. The Ahmed family and the whole team at Wyndham Cache are very proud of being part of this business and we would like to thank you and remind you that our family is here to feed yours, even if it is only for the day.
