1 KELLY S th Annual Money Saving Folder and Price List KELLY SEED & HARDWARE COMPANY 202 HAMILTON BLVD., PEORIA, IL PHONE: or FAX: established (in the Church Family) We at Kelly s are proud to serve the American Farmer The Foundation of America KELLY S BULK GARDEN SEED With the resurgence in home gardening, Kelly s bulk seed has become more popular than ever. Bulk seed is just a fraction of the price of packaged seed, and Kelly s has a large selection from which to choose. Many varieties are also heirloom and ALL our garden seed is Non-GMO. KELLY S WATERWAY MIXTURE This is one of our most popular grass mixes because it can be used in a wide variety of areas. --As its name suggests, waterway mix is ideal in waterways because it is deep rooted and not easily eroded. --Waterway mix does great on hillsides and dams, because it contains grasses that are very quick to emerge which hold the seed and soil in place. --Seeding Rate 25 lbs./acre Consists of: 22.5 lbs KY 31 Fescue, 12.5 lbs Linn Per Rye, 7.5 lbs Timothy, 7.5 lbs Smooth Brome 50-lbs $87.50 THE SEEDY SIDE For quite a few years, we have been talking about how mild our winters have been. Well, this year, Old Man Winter has taken his revenge and really hit us hard with record breaking cold and snow. The good thing is that spring is on its way and eventually it is going to warm up! We know that cold winters help to reduce pests, but what problems will we find? Across the upper Midwest, Alfalfa was hit very hard by winterkill in the winter/spring of It is estimated that 60-70% of alfalfa stands in Wisconsin were lost. It is important for those of you with alfalfa to be vigilant this spring and anticipate your needs if there is damage. Summer annuals will help you hedge your bet if your forage needs are not being met. Cover Crops continue to be the buzz word. More and more farmers wanting to be stewards of their land are seeing the benefits of cover crops. From reducing compaction, suppressing weed growth, reducing inputs, and increasing yields and profits, cover crops have a place on any farm! Also, look for our new website coming this year!! We will have a landing page until it is finished with our catalog, price list, and product guides. You can find us at KELLY S MIXTURES You can produce more tonnage by sowing mixtures.
