Domaine La Soufrandière La Soufrandière is our family s estate, purchased in 1947 by our paternal grandparents. In 2000, we officially took over La Soufrandière and its 4.5 hectares of Pouilly Vinzelles planted on the best, east/southeast-facing clay-limestone slope in the village. Then, in 2004, our maternal grandfather entrusted his one hectare Clos in Mâcon-Vinzelles to us. As of 2016, we were lucky enough to acquire 5 hectares of organically farmed vines: 3.5 hectares in Saint-Véran, 1.2 hectares in Pouilly Fuissé, and 1.2 hectares of Bourgogne Aligoté. We decided to work Organically and Biodynamically from the start. As we see it, an agriculture respecting the Living environment is the only way to produce wines with exceptional balance, that vibrate with energy and reveal their terroir. Maintaining balance between the Soil and Vine allows us to produce small berries that are balanced and rich in phenolics and organic acids that are essential to optimal grape ripening. The grapes are harvested by hand in small cases, then crushed, pressed and vinified in barrels or in tanks, with the indigenous yeasts naturally present on the grape skins. The aging period varies from 11 to 18 months depending on the cuvée. Jean-Philippe & Jean-Guillaume BRET 2016 : «A growers vintage: it all happened in the vineyards» What a difficult year! Though barely emerged from their winter cotton, the buds were already partially destroyed by a hailstorm on April 13. Then repetitive rains (wet conditions worse than in 2013), favored mildew development (a fungal disease that our American friends kindly shared with us at the end of the 19 th century). We had to fight against it daily. After multiple organic treatments (applied manually), leaf plucking, and repeated applications of tisanes and horn silica (Biodynamic preparation 501) that we were able to contain the disease and preserve our leaves and grapes. We were saved at the end of July. The drought in August concluded the ripening process and we began harvesting on September 19 th in serenity. The grapes achieved optimal ripeness with moderate alcohol levels, between 11.5% and 13.5%, naturally. There is freshness in these wines, oomph and energy! And yes, (almost) everything took place in the vines ;-)

We created Bret Brothers in early August 2001 with the aim of making great terroir-driven wines, primarily from Southern Burgundy. We expanded the line up to include the great Beaujolais Crus in We strictly adhere to a number of rigorous standards: we select micro-plots of old vines farmed by passionate growers on specific terroirs; we buy only grapes that are still on the vine; we hand-pick the grapes ourselves; we vinify exclusively with indigenous yeasts; we cellar, age, and bottle the wine ourselves. We give the same care and passion to these grapes as for the grapes coming from our Domaine La Soufrandière. As of the 2006 vintage, 8 of the BRET BROTHERS cuvées are made with grapes certified as organic by ECOCERT. It seems right for us to engage in and support sustainable agriculture, as we truly believe in it. As a result, the wines express even more vibrancy. ;-) Great Mâconnais white wines (Southern Burgundy) and Beaujolais Crus 1 Wine = 1 Parcel = 1 Grower (except Mâcon-Villages Terroirs du Mâconnais ) Selection of old vines (at least 40 years old), 100% chardonnay, 100% gamay Hand-harvesting by the BRET BROTHERS team 8 wines certified by Ecocert or in organic conversion in 2016 (60% of production) Total of 20 micro-cuvées (900 to 6,000 bottles per wine) Annual production: 50,000 bottles 100% indigenous yeasts for alcoholic fermentation Most of the wines are vinified and aged in Burgundian barrels (7 to 18 years old)

The Wines of Domaine La S oufrandière : BOURGOGNE ALIGOTE CUVEE «ALIGATO» La Soufrandière 2016 :New (750 bottles) Now presenting our new cuvée produced with vines that we acquired in 2016, planted to the other White Burgundy grape. This is a micro-production of Aligoté from east-facing vines, at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson. 2016: chiseled, almost incisive, and yet so gourmand! Our only regret is that we don t have more to offer MACON-VINZELLES La Soufrandière «LE CLOS DE GRAND-PERE» 2016 : The younger brother of our Pouilly-Vinzelles, our MÂCON-VINZELLES LE CLOS DE GRAND PÈRE comes from a plot belonging to our maternal grandfather, who inherited it from his own maternal grandfather! The vines, 60 years old on average, are located on a hard limestone terrace, which is believed to be an old Roman path, at the bottom of the slope in Pouilly-Vinzelles. In 2016, notes of white flowers on the nose and a noble bitterness on the palate invite a second sip SAINT-VERAN CUVEE «LA COMBE DESROCHES» La Soufrandière 2016 : New, in organic conversion We acquired this beautiful parcel of about 1.5 hectares in Located at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson, on the northfacing hillside of a stunning valley, its soils of marl and clay are ideal for Chardonnay. The grapes achieve lovely ripeness despite this cooler terroir. A terroir for the future. An elegant wine in 2016, ideal at the start of a meal. SAINT-VERAN CLIMAT «LA BONNODE» La Soufrandière 2016 : New Neighbor to Combe DesRoches, La Bonnode is a superb parcel of 2 hectares, facing east at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson. The vines are mostly bordered by old brush: a sheltered, isolated situation that allows us to biodynamically cultivate the vines with ease. Working in this parcel, we can see across the Saône Valley all the way to the Mont Blanc in the distance to the east. This first vintage confirms our hopes: this is a great terroir for whites, with both tension and fruit. Cheers! POUILLY-FUISSE «AU VIGNERAIS» La Soufrandière 2016 : New (580 bottles) Our parcel of about 0.50 ha is on the southern hillside of the Roche de Solutré, at about 300 meters altitude. The view is magnificent and the clay-limestone soils are particularly red here. These small grapes allow us to extract the full potential of this terroir, which will probably be classed as 1er Cru. A wine with beautiful fruit, this is unfortunately a micro-production in 2016 due to an 80% loss from hail damage. The AOC Pouilly-Vinzelles is only 50 ha in comparison to the neighboring AOC Pouilly-Fuissé, with its 750 ha. But doesn t this stricter limitation signify a rarer and even more unique terroir? This great white Burgundy expresses the full potential of Chardonnay from the Southern Mâconnais. Our wine is a blend of our younger vines (35 to 50 years old) in Les Quarts. The vines have a magnificent southeastern exposure, located at the mid-slope on clay and limestone. The soils are plowed and vineyard work is carried out manually to avoid compacting the soil, which thus thrives naturally. The word Terroir takes on its full meaning here! 2016 is simply magical. POUILLY-VINZELLES La Soufrandière CLIMAT «LES LONGEAYS» 2016 : Les Longeays is one of the three most distinct climats in the appellation. Like in Les Quarts, the vines in Les Longeays face southeast and are located at mid-slope, but the clay soils, rich in oxidized iron and manganese, are deeper here. This characteristic explains the vineyard s tendency to ripen early, year after year, often making Les Longeays more expressive in its youth than Les Quarts. Revealing pure fruit at this stage, the 2016 is very promising! POUILLY-VINZELLES La Soufrandière CLIMAT «LES QUARTS» 2016 : Walk, listen, smell. You are in the middle of the plowed La Soufrandière vineyard of Pouilly-Vinzelles Climat Les Quarts, on a terroir that we think is one of the best in Burgundy. Maybe we re biased by our endless love for it, or maybe it s because we just know it deep down. The pinnacle, an old shelter with a roof covered in varnished tiles, stands like a guardian. The earth here is soft, aerated, perfumed. It is alive. The soul of the terroir is undeniably present. With an almost magical exposure at the top of a southeast-facing slope, our oldest Chardonnay vines (45 to 80 years old) are rooted in an active limestone and clay soil (Bajocian, rich with siliceous crystals), giving birth to powerful, age-worthy wines. The nose is citrusy and mineral, and the balanced palate shows complexity and a long finish. As vintages go by, the terroir remains; it s up to us to preserve it! The tension and structure in 2016 make this a great Burgundy! POUILLY-VINZELLES La Soufrandière CLIMAT «LES QUARTS» Cuvée Millerandée 2016 : (850 bottles+180 Magnum) Some advise us to replant these vines: they are deteriorating! You must replant with new clones! That would be a sacrilege, a crime against biodiversity. From the beginning, we decided to vinify this part of Les Quarts separately to showcase its 80+ year-old vines. Since 2000, thanks to a return of biological activity in the soils, these vines rediscovered their energy and strength. They always produce small grapes that we call Millerandés : highly concentrated berries that give a richer version of Quarts, with no residual sugar. In 2016, Le Montrachet has competition! ;-) Chaintré Fuissé 1,10 ha Mâcon-Vinzelles «Le Clos de Grand-Père» 0,55 ha Pouilly-Vinzelles Climat «Les Longeays» Vinzelles 4 ha Pouilly-Vinzelles Climat «Les Quarts» Ouest Nord «Le Clocheton» located in our Pouilly-Vinzelles Les Quarts vines Mâcon (5 km) Sud Est

THE GREAT WHITE MACONNAIS AND RED BEAUJOLAIS WINES : BEAUJOLAIS-LEYNES CUVE «LE GLOU DE JEFF» 2016 : This year Jeff (Jean-François Promonet) has once again offered us his magnificent grapes from Leynes a great terroir that is highly demanding, even stubborn at times. Whole bunch, semi-carbonic fermentation with no added sulfur (small dose added only at bottling). Irresistible! MORGON CLIMAT «LES CHARMES» 2016 : Morgon: one of the best crus of the Beaujolais! From the Charmes plateau, these organic old vines of Gamay produce lovely, perfumed berries with firm skins. One of the best granite terroirs, with elegance and drinkability is a vintage of finesse and delicacy. MACON-VILLAGES CUVEE «TERROIRS DU MACONNAIS» 2016 : This is our only blended cuvée, including grapes from Mâcon-Villages, Mâcon-Chaintré, Mâcon-Fuissé, Viré-Clessé, Saint-Véran and the Pouillys. But do not be misled: this is an excellent wine, with quality far beyond your basic entry-level! It is ideal with goat cheese from the Mâconnais! The 2016 is extraordinary! MACON-VILLAGES CUVEE «EPHEMERE» 2016 : in organic conversion An original and ephemeral cuvée? Well, no, because we re bringing it back this year! This pretty wine is the blend of two beautiful, organically-farmed parcels from the villages of Burgy and Chardonnay. Lots of fruit and energy in MACON-CHARDONNAY 2016 : in organic conversion The elder citizens of Chardonnay, near Tournus, will tell you that their village provided the name for the famous Burgundian varietal. All that is certain is that the word Chardonnay comes from the Latin Cardus which means thistle: spikey plants that grow particularly well on limestone soils. And Chardonnay is a village with excellent limestone soils. Mostly vinified in tank, the explosive bouquet of this stunning wine is guided by the natural energy of the terroir. Immediate drinkability in 2016! MACON-CHARDONNAY CLIMAT «LES CRAYS» 2016 : in organic conversion What a gorgeous terroir in the hamlet of Champvent, just next door to Chardonnay. The name itself conveys minerality. White limestone rocks lay scattered throughout the clay soil of this parcel, exposed due west. This version is even fuller and more precise than its predecessor. What a wine in 2016! Aromatic, with energy and length. Irresistible! MACON-CRUZILLE 2016: Limited production (1180 btles) Cruzille such a magical name for those lucky enough to have visited this well-preserved area of viticultural countryside, an isolated place where cell phone connection is a recent development. This cuvée comes from very old vines that are plowed and certified organic. To sum it up, a cousin of the terroir of Vignes du Maynes. There is no denying this terroir delivers a unique fruit and a perfect balance, meriting recognition as a Mâconnais Cru. The great Cru of the northern Mâconnais. As exquisite as ever in 2016! VIRE-CLESSE CLIMAT «LA VERCHERE» 2016 : AOC Viré-Clessé unites the two AOCs Mâcon-Clessé and Mâcon-Viré, and has been a Mâconnais Cru since 1999, (with Pouilly- Fuissé, Pouilly-Loché, Pouilly-Vinzelles and Saint-Véran). Our Viré-Clessé Climat La Verchère comes from 60+ year-old vines in the village of Viré, north of Mâcon. This beautiful east-facing parcel on clay-limestone soils reveals terroir of Viré in all its nobility. A racy, mineral nose. A sure bet in 2016! VIRE-CLESSE CLIMAT «SOUS LES PLANTES» 2016 : The Climat Sous Les Plantes is located in southern Viré, right at the border of Clessé. The soil is silty with limestone underneath. I beg your pardon? Did you say silty? Well, yes, great Burgundy may also grow on soils other than clay and limestone. The soils are plowed, and the old vines (65 to 80 years old) produce small, consistently ripe grapes. A riper style with notes of white fruit, yet maintaining beautiful balance in 2016! SAINT-VERAN CLIMAT «EN COMBE» 2016 : Limited production (890 bottles) Located on the exceptional Chasselas slope, facing south, the old, plowed vines of Saint Véran En Combe extract the minerality and fruit of their great terroir. The high level of oxidized iron in the soil here makes for a wine with great aging potential. Always a bit closed when young, this wine begins opening up after about two or three years in bottle is stunning. But production is limited POUILLY-LOCHE CLIMAT «LA COLONGE» 2016 : There are only 30 hectares of vines in the smallest Mâconnais appellation. Perhaps this makes it the twin sister of Pouilly- Vinzelles (50 ha)? Yes and no, as even though the appellation is small, there are two distinct types of soils: one that is atypical and composed of schists, and another with clay-limestone similar to the Climat Les Buchardières in Pouilly-Vinzelles. Our Pouilly-Loché La Colonge is found on this second version, exposed east. Always charming and round, even in POUILLY-FUISSE CUVEE «TERRES DE VERGISSON» 2016 : This cuvée comes from the most mineral terroir in the appellation. Let yourself be guided by the mineral tension and vibrancy of the wine, which seems to ricochet throughout the rocky circle of land between the Roches de Solutré and Vergisson ;-) 90% of this cuvée comes from the magnificent northern slope of the Roches de Solutré, even if it is officially within the commune of Vergisson. The 2016 has a linear, pure profile. POUILLY-FUISSE CLIMAT «LE CLOS REYSSIE» 2016 : Le Clos Reyssie is without a doubt the most well-known terroir in the village of Chaintré (one of the four villages producing Pouilly-Fuissé). This parcel of very old vines, located at the top of the slope east of Chaintré, produces mostly very small and concentrated ( millerandés ) berries has a ripe style, but is nevertheless guided by tension and a beautiful drinkability.

POUILLY-FUISSE CLIMAT «SUR LA ROCHE» 2016 : Production limitée (1180 bottles) Sur La Roche is without a doubt THE noblest terroir in Vergisson, exposed east at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson. These 50-year-old vines, from two parcels located a mere 300 meters apart, extract quintessential minerality, making a wine to seduce the purist and the novice alike. Soon to be a 1er Cru? Noble bitterness and fruit in POUILLY-FUISSE CLIMAT «LES CHEVRIERES» 2016 : Production limitée (1180 bottles) - Along with Le Clos Reyssie, Les Chevrières is the other great terroir of Chaintré. We are so lucky to be able to offer this new cuvée, sourced from very old west-facing vines on soils that are particularly rich in oxidized iron, rocky but with lots of clay as well. The grapes produced here are mostly millerandés very small and with no seeds! 2016: Once again, this proves to be a cellar-worthy wine. POUILLY-FUISSE CLIMAT «LES CRAYS» 2016 : Limited production (1180 bottles) - Those who know Vergisson know this magical terroir well. Les Crays is located under the Roche de Vergisson and next to En Carmentrant, but on a steeper part of the south-facing slope, with soils that are red and rich in active limestone. This parcel is meticulously cared for, and the grapes are partially millerandés. A great amongst the greats confirms this! 7 History 1947: La Soufrandière, a historic estate in Vinzelles in the Southern Mâconnais, was bought by Jules Bret (Jean-Philippe, Jean-Guillaume and Marc-Antoine s paternal grandfather), a professor of medicine. The surface area planted to vines made up just one hectare (2.47 acres), all in the AOC Pouilly- Vinzelles Climat "Les Quarts". The only remaining testimony to its past viticultural life was a tinailler (a traditional Mâconnais house used as a vat-room) complete with an old-fashioned wine press. Jules BRET and his wife Louise (from Vinzelles) started to expand La Soufrandière by acquiring neighboring plots of vines, which were then worked by share-croppers. The resulting crop was vinified and commercialized by the local Cooperative (Cave Coopérative de Vinzelles). 1969: Jean-Paul BRET, the third son of Jules and Louise Bret s four children, became manager of La Soufrandière. The surface area planted with vines expanded to 4.55 ha (11.11 acres): 4 ha of Pouilly- Vinzelles Climat "Les Quarts" and 0.55 ha of Pouilly-Vinzelles Climat "Les Longeays". 1998: La Soufrandière withdrew from the Cave Coopérative de Vinzelles as Jean-Guillaume and Jean- Philippe, two of Jean-Paul and Marie-Rose BRET s three sons, joined the domaine : The Bret family s goal became to produce great Southern Burgundy wines. From 1991 to 2000, the sons pursued studies in winemaking to pursue this dream. 2000: A year of transition and revolution, 2000 was the first vintage vinified, aged, and bottled by La Soufrandière. This year also marks the domaine s conversion to organic and biodynamic viticulture. 2001: The négociant label BRET BROTHERS was created, with the goal of buying grapes (harvested by their own team) from parcels of old vines and prestigious terroirs of the Mâconnais. 2004: La Soufrandière acquired the Mâcon-Vinzelles terroir Le Clos de Grand-Père, originally belonging to their maternal grandfather. 2010: Marc-Antoine, the third brother, joined the team in November : Cellar extension work was completed. An underground space of 480m2 now allows for better vinifying, aging, and cellaring conditions for the Bret s prestigious Mâconnais terroirs. 2014: Tragic passing of Marc-Antoine. 2016: The domaine expands!! La Soufrandière acquires 5 ha of organically-farmed vines: 3.5 in Saint- Véran, 1.2 ha in Pouilly-Fuissé and 0.3 ha of Aligoté. Santé! ;-) 2017: Extension of the winery. 80 m2 is added, with only natural materials -- thick brick and wood fiber. Ideal for vinifying the 5 ha acquired in 2016 and to allow for longer barrel-aging.
