1 Private Event Package 2017 Bernardo Winery, founded in 1889, is one of the oldest continuously operating wineries in California. Our family-owned winery is now in its third generation, and we are more passionate than ever about sharing our traditions, history, and most importantly, our wine with you. 2 Venue Selection Each venue includes 60 inch round tables, 6ft and 8ft banquet tables, white padded folding chairs (unless otherwise noted), and standard ivory linen with burgundy napkins. We are also happy to include wine themed centerpieces for table décor upon request. Please find a list of additions and upgrades on page 12. The Barrel Room The Bernardo Winery Barrel Room is the original winery, containing vats built in place by a French Cooperage firm in the early 1900 s which makes for an amazing piece of Vintage California Architecture. Northern California Redwood was transported by wagon and railcar to create these historic pieces of equipment. The character and charm this venue has adds something to your event that you would be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in the world. Upon entering the Barrel Room, you will experience the scents and delights of over 100 years of winemaking history. Being built into the slope, and with its high ceilings, the Barrel Room stays a constant cool temperature all year round. (Includes white padded folding chairs) Capacity: 60 or 50 allowing dance space Availability: 10am-9pm Daily Site Fee: $800 (50% off Monday-Thursday) Rosario s Pavilion Our premier event venue is located on the eastern side of the Bernardo Winery Village. A dear part of Bernardo Winery s heritage, the Pavilion is dedicated to the late Patriarch of the Rizzo Family, Ross Sr. (Rosario is the Italian name for Ross). Rosario s offers a beautiful venue for any event. Boasting beautifully lush gardens with turn of the century vineyard and wine-making implements, a built-in bar and catering buffet table. Olive trees provide shade while the beautiful tiered fountain adds to the intimacy. This venue is the perfect combination of a partially covered pavilion and outdoor garden escape, ideal for any occasion. Uncle Vito s Park Uncle Vito s Park was named after one of the most funloving members of the Rizzo Family. As a labor of love each week, Uncle Vito would mow the lawn and make sure his park was immaculate for the family festas that weekend. This venue is one of the most beautiful park-like areas around, surrounded by producing vineyards, shading olives trees, antique gazebos and covered in thick lawn. The covered patio allows for shades and a picturesque view of the park fountain and rose garden and the shadow of a century-old windmill casted over the park in the afternoon. 10 Beverage Choices Beverage prices include Wine glassware, plastic ware for all other beverages, wine steward, and bar back. A bar package is required to hold an event at Bernardo Winery. Prices are subject to change. Cheers! Bar Packages include 3 ½ hours of unlimited consumption. Non-alcoholic beverages will be served during the entire event. We promote responsible alcohol consumption and will refuse service to any individual that has had too much. We are very diligent in not serving or allowing minors to drink alcohol. Also, we reserve the right to close, suspend or delay the bar service at any time for any reason without refund or credit. 11 Wine-Themed Event Additions Add something special to your winery event by including a Tour & Tasting or your very own authentic Grape Stomp! Wine Blending competitions and group tours are great for team building! Informational Tour & Wine Tasting Enjoy a 25 minute guided walking tour of the grounds conducted by a Bernardo Winery Wine Steward which includes a tour of the winemaking process from beginning to end, some wine tasting knowledge and a family history of the owners and operators of San Diego's Best Winery. Learn how Southern California was the winemaking region for many years in Old California, and see how wine was made and sold over 100 years ago at this very winery. Includes 5 tastes of hand selected wines. $15 per person plus tax and gratuity Wine Blending The Wine Blending is a fun and interactive wine event where guests are split into groups and together blend 3 Bernardo Wines into their very own unique personal varietal. Guests will be supplied with measuring supplies, a funnel, corks, blank wine labels in which to design their very own brands, and an informative factsheet about blending a Meritage. A team of Bernardo Winery Wine Stewards with distinguished palates will taste, grade, and determine a winner. The winning group will receive a special Bernardo Winery wine-related gift. $45 per person plus tax and gratuity Page 11 of 14

12 Vendor List All events at the Bernardo Winery that opt to have music provided must use one of our preferred DJ s or live musicians below. Please feel free to view there demos and biography s online. If you are interested in one of the DJ s or Musicians please contact the events department and they will gladly give you a price quote and book them for your event. 13 Event Contract Deposit & Payment A deposit is required to secure the date for your event at Bernardo Winery. The deposit is considered the site fee of your selected venue. Refunds will be issued up to 7 days prior to your event minus 50% of your total deposit. Events cancelled during the 7 days prior will not be refundable. All refunds will be made by check within 10 days of your cancellation. Bernardo Winery Staff During the course of your event either the Private Event Manager or an alternate Manager will be onsite to oversee operations. Should you have a question, need or concern we ask that you direct those to either the Manager present or the Wine Steward on-duty at that time. Our staff will do their best to be of assistance to you at all times. Start Times, End Times & Setup Times At Bernardo Winery, we give you an ample amount of time to add your personal touch to your event space. 3 hours prior to an event, the venue is clean and our staff will be setting up the venue in preparation for the event. During that time the event host is welcome to begin decorating for special occasions, subject to availability. In all of the event venues, the actual rental period is 4 hours unless otherwise stated by the event manager. Bar The bar service is organized and managed by Bernardo Winery. The purchase of the Bernardo Winery Bar Package is required to host an event here at Bernardo Winery. We are very diligent in not serving or allowing minors to drink alcohol. Also, we reserve the right to close, suspend or delay the bar service at any time for any reason without refund or credit. The bar service is limited to 3 ½ hours in all cases or will close 30 minutes prior to the end of your event, whichever is sooner. All of Bernardo Winery wine stewards are LEAD Trained and Certified in compliance with the Alcohol Beverage Control. The bar will include 4 wines from the Bernardo Winery Event Wine List, 3 craft beers, various non-alcoholic beverages, bottled water and a complimentary Champagne Toast. Bernardo Winery reserves the right to substitute any and all beverage selections depending on availability. No outside alcohol of any sort may be brought on to Bernardo Winery Property. In the event an individual associated with your event brings in outside alcohol on to Bernardo Winery Property, Bernardo Winery reserves the right to remove individual from premises and/or close, suspend or delay bar service without compensation. Please inform your guests of this stipulation. Other Notes Our property is vast compared to many venues in San Diego. Please be aware of your children s location during an event. Many times children wander away from an event venue and then run the risk of getting hurt on our very antique equipment; we are not liable for any injuries resulting from negligence. Also, strewn around the winery grounds are antique artifacts from decades ago that are attached to walls and poles. Please be careful not to bump them or take them from their home. You will assume all liability for injuries. Since the Bernardo Winery is very prone to fire damage, we do not allow any open flames. That does include sparklers, candles fires etc. However, we do allow votive candles in proper hurricane vases. Please ask the Event Page 13 of 14

14 Manager if you are unsure about what may be allowable or not. Our tables are 60 inch round tables, and our stock chairs are white padded folding chairs. Upgrades may be purchased through the winery events office. Hold Harmless The undersigned states as follows; I understand and will adhere to the terms outlined in the Bernardo Winery Events Package By signing this Event Contract I do waive and release, and discharge and hold harmless Bernardo Winery, Inc., its owners, management, staff and subcontractors, and all individual members thereof affiliated with the subject property. Furthermore, I do acknowledge that this release will extend to all accidents, damages or claims arising out of my rental of property and equipment owned by Bernardo Winery, Inc. Agreement I understand that failing to adhere to these terms may result in either the bar being closed, the event being cancelled, or damages charged on my credit card. I will abide by the rules, policies and regulations of Bernardo Winery, Inc. A signed copy of this contract for your records will be made available upon request.
