1 THE MOON FESTIVAL Sept 18-21,2013 According to the Moon Festival first edition success that took place in Château Guiraud in September 2011, the four Sauternes First Classified Growth 1855 owners have decided to renew this invitation to Asian wine professionals and enthusiasts that are in Bordeaux at this period which happens to be just before harvest time. In 2013, the autumn full moon will shine on September, 19th. A number of Chinese will therefore enjoy this period and be able to discover the Bordeaux vineyards. For this third edition, Château Guiraud will have the pleasure to introduce numerous surprises during the evening: observation of the lunar star, the release of blazing lanterns, dinner with First Growth owners During the peak of the evening, the guests will discover the unique alliance between Château Guiraud wines and the unavoidable Mooncake which is still made out of a secret recipe. To mark the occasion, Château Guiraud has created a special case of wine in limited and numbered edition which will be the occasion of a lucky draw. 1

4 THE 4 DAYS PROGRAM Day 1 September 18 th, Wednesday - Welcome to Bordeaux. If Bordeaux owes its world-renowned name to its famous vineyards, it is its history, so intimately linked to its river, which today invites the visitor to discover its extraordinary heritage. Bordeaux was listed as a UNESCO world heritage site in 2007 and is first and foremost an 18th century architectural gem with its Place Royale (what is today Place de la Bourse), its Grand Théâtre, the Allées de Tourny It is also a city of culture and gastronomy with an incomparable art of living. Meet and greet with your driver-guide at the train station or airport and transfer to your hotel in the city centre. Visit of the city Introduction course on Bordeaux wines at the Bordeaux Wine School CIVB. Dinner in a restaurant in the city centre and overnight at your hotel. 4

5 Day 2 September 19 th, Thursday - The splendour of the Médoc. The Médoc, one of the world's most famous vineyard regions, invites you to follow the Route des Grands Crus. You will go past many prestigious châteaux, reflecting the prosperity and prestige of Bordeaux winegrowers -great names such as Margaux, Latour, Mouton-Rothschild, Lafite-Rothschild. Visiting the estates, you will taste wines of infinite nuances in luxurious cellars. Fine Médoc is full of vigour, with an unforgettable bouquet and inimitable finesse. After breakfast, meet and greet with your driver-guide in the lobby of your hotel for a day tour in order to discover famous appellations in the Médoc region. Visit and tasting at Château Rauzan Ségla - Grand Crus Classé 1855 (AOC Margaux). Photo stop in front of Château Margaux. Lunch in a typical Médoc restaurant: Le Savoie. 6 Day 3 September 20 th, Friday - The Graves and Saint-Emilion vineyard Saint-Emilion is set out like an amphitheatre in a splendid natural location. It is a vast indentation on top of limestone hill, exposed to the rising sun and covered with vineyards. The town has conserved its old walls and gateways as well as a series of prestigious archaeological sites. Saint Emilion and its surrounding vineyards were the first wine landscape to be listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Described as "the nectar of the gods" by King Louis XIV when he visited Libourne, the wines of Saint- Emilion are warm, generous and full-bodied, with a fine colour. They acquire a highly distinctive bouquet as they age. The cradle of Bordeaux winegrowing, the Graves appellation lies along the left bank of the Garonne. The name derives from the pebbly, "gravelly" soil, which provides excellent drainage and is perfectly suited to growing wine grapes. Created in 1987, the "Pessac-Léognan" appellation includes about sixty châteaux, which can be termed "urban vineyards" since they are really part of greater metropolitan Bordeaux. After breakfast, meet and greet with your driver-guide in the lobby of your hotel for a day tour between the Graves and the Saint-Emilion vineyard. Visit and tasting at a Saint-Emilion First Growth: Château Canon La Gaffeliere. Then, discover the underground monuments in Saint-Emilion. The tour covers several centuries of history and legend from the time of the monk Emilion to the carving out of the amazing monolithic church. You will see paintings in the Chapelle de la Trinité and learn the secrets of the catacombs. Lunch in a typical restaurant in the Saint-Emilion village. In the afternoon, visit and tasting at a Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé such as Domaine de Chevalier. Free dinner and overnight at your hotel. 6

8 POSSIBLE EXTENSION OF THE TRIP The Bay of Arcachon Located less than an hour s drive from Bordeaux, the Bay of Arcachon is a wonderfully exotic location offering: sandy beaches, the Dune du Pyla, the Ile aux Oiseaux, the Cap Ferret peninsula, small fishing villages and oyster ports, the Leyre Delta and the Maison de la Nature not to mention the town of Arcachon the City of the Four Seasons established in You will have the possibility to visit Arcachon and enjoy a tasting of oysters served with a glass of white wine and lunch by the bay as well as a commented boat tour around the «Île aux Oiseaux» for you to discover the oyster parks and the beauty of this natural and authentic site. Before returning to Bordeaux, take a stroll through the «winter town» of Arcachon with its astonishing 19th century villas or climb the Pyla Dune, the highest sand dune in Europe, for a magnificent view of the bay and the ocean. Cognac Remy Martin Cognac is not only this great and well-known alcohol, but it is also a beautiful and dynamic city. It is situated on the river Charente The majority of the town has been built on the river s left bank, with the smaller right bank area known as the Saint Jacques district. Indeed, Cognac has been linked to the cultivation of the vine since the Middle Ages and to trading in wine since the 12 th century. A river town bathed by the Charente, Cognac sent wines, by sea, from ancient vineyards of Poitou as far as Holland and the Scandinavian countries. During the 17 th century however the trade in wine took a new turn. Distillation, in eliminating the water in the wine, reduced its volume. The subsequent prosperity of cognac opened up for the town new links with the entire world. 8

9 You will be able to discover a famous brandy house such Remy Martin. This famous house of cognacs is above all renowned for the sharpness of its Brandy.
