4 Reserve List 2009 Penfolds 407 Cabernet Sauvignon /190 Beautiful cabernet nose with a mix of French and American oak here. It has a deep sense of ripeness but still with brightness and poise cabernet seems to have sailed through in good shape. There's cassis and fine tannins throughout, slight fraying at the edges and a soft core, with mulberry and plum skin to close 2007 Penfolds 389 Cabernet Shiraz /190 Affectionately known as "Baby Grange", Bin 389 was the wine that helped to build Penfolds' solid reputation with wine drinkers around the world. A magnificent blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz The robust nature of the Cabernet grape give structure and body to the wine while the opulent Shiraz fruit provides suppleness and intensity 2008 Penfolds St Henri Shiraz /200 An elegant and pure tannin structure is what sets it apart from the rest of the Penfolds red wine range, but along with those building blocks comes velvet texture, opulence and generosity. This generosity is on full display with this 2008 vintage. deep colour. lovely fresh blackberry, dark cherry, herb aromas with some liquorice, paneforte notes. Well concentrated blackberry, dark cherry, praline flavours, fine-grained touch chalky-al-dente tannins. Finishes firm and tight. Beautiful richness and volume. Gentle tannin plume at the finish 2009 Penfolds 150 Shiraz /200 First vintaged in 2008, and Penfolds first sub-region specific wine, Marananga lies at the centre of the Barossa floor and its warm dry conditions and rich red soil have for decades produced fruit of exceptional quality. Bright, deep red in colour this contemporary Shiraz boasts an amalgam of leather, cola and peat over toasty oak aromas. The rich and dark palate exudes a deep compote of black fruit power spiked with notes of anise, liquorice and coffee all sitting in harmony with well-judged cedary oak.
