Eat N Greet, National Cook For Your Pet Month! Wednesday, November 13, from 12:30pm 2:00pm Gather in the Day Room at the Oak Creek Community Center for people versions of pet foods. November is National Cook for Your Pet Month, a day to pamper your pets with a delicious and nutritious home-cooked snack or meal. There are many important things to consider when cooking for animals, especially which foods to avoid (like onions, chocolate, and tomato leaves and stems to name a few). It s also important to introduce new foods gradually and to check with your pet s veterinarian before changing your furry friend s diet. The first class will include painting your runner with fabric dyes and creating a reusable printing block from common craft materials. 5 Holiday Celebration Friday, December 6, 11am-2pm, The Center Registration ends: Monday, November 25 at 4:45pm Fees: FYC Members: $12, Residents: $14, Non-Residents: $16 Warm up for the Holidays with friends, music and good food at our Holiday Celebration! We will continue our Holiday tradition with a recital by the very talented Oak Creek High School Choir. Holiday lunch: Baked chicken, buttered corn, baked potato with sour cream, roll and butter, dessert and ice cream and coffee. Then sit back and relax to the music of Gary s Christmas Classics. A wonderful holiday show featuring those memorable yuletide classics of Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Burl Ives, The Carpenters, and more. Everyone will be dreaming of a white Christmas once they enjoy these and many other great holiday classics such as: White Christmas, The Christmas Song, Holly Jolly Christmas, Baby It's Cold Outside. Refund Policy: Refunds available (minus $3) before 4:45pm November 25. After November 25, non-refundable but transferable. Transfer to a non-member will require additional fees. Candy Cane Tales & Hoilday Carols Waukesha Civic Theater & Old Country Buffet Sunday, December 8, 1:00 to 7:00pm Registration ends: November 26 at 4:45pm Cancellation Date: 25 people must be registered by Monday, November 18 by 4:45pm to avoid cancellation. Fees: FYC Member: $45, Resident Non-Member: $47, Non-Resident: $49 The story line is of a young girl and her parents as they prepare for the holiday season. As the story moves forward, the inquisitive young girl asks questions about many of the holiday traditions, where they came from, and why we celebrate them. The production takes on many favorite holiday stories including "Frosty the Snowman", "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", "The Year Without Santa Claus", and "Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus". Songs range from classics such as "White Christmas", "Carol of the Bells" and "Silent Night" to story based songs like "You're a Mean One Mister Grinch", "Heat Miser" and "Snow Miser". The production also contains a fantastic Christmas around the World medley, including "Feliz Navidad", "Mêlée Kalikimaka" and "O Tannenbaum". Rounding out the show are some parodies and more humorous holiday songs, including "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" and "The Twelve Pains of Christmas". At Old Country Buffet, there s always something delicious waiting for you. Help yourself to a wide variety of choices. They feature a wide selection of fresh ingredients, so you can create the perfect salad. And don t forget dessert! Try one of many cakes and pies any time during your meal. Combine peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. 2. Microwave for one minute then stir to blend all ingredients thoroughly. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Stir well. 3. Place the 9 cups of Crispix cereal in a very large bowl. 4. Pour the peanut butter-chocolate mixture over the cereal and toss evenly, making sure all the cereal gets a good covering. 5. Place the powdered sugar in a large zip-lock type plastic bag. 6. Add the peanut butter-chocolate cereal mixture to the bag, leaving enough room for the puppy chow to be shaken (you may have to divide the mixture into smaller batches, coating one batch at a time). 7. Shake the bag vigorously to evenly coat each piece of the puppy chow with powdered sugar. 8. Once the mixture is fully coated, place in a large serving bowl. 9. Coat any additional pieces by shaking the mixture in the powdered sugar filled bag. Add powdered sugar to the bag as needed until all the mixture is coated.
