1 Line Dancing Everyone is welcome to join our Line Dancing class that is designed for Advanced Beginners with some knowledge of basic patterns and for Intermediate level dancers. The dances are presented in repeated sequences of steps in rows or group lines with everyone executing the steps at the same time. This is a great way to exercise, enjoy current music with some oldie country music thrown in and meet wonderful new friends. No partner nor prior experience is necessary, just patience and come for FUN! LaConner Quilt Festival Attention all quilters and Wearable Art lovers. This International show is one of the best in the country. This year features artists from Japan along with local prize winning quilters. Festival admission is included. Lunch in charming LaConner on your own. K Saturday, Oct. 1, 9am - 4pm Northwest Tea Festival And Lunch This is the perfect time to sample some of the finest teas in the world. For an admission fee (included), you receive a porcelain tasting cup and may try as many teas as you desire from the various vendors. In addition, you will arrive in time to sign up for interesting workshops and presentations. There is limited seating. Free tickets are on a first come, first served basis. Tea lovers, this is an annual event you will want to repeat. Your trip includes a guided tour of the factory with an up-close look at the creation of handcrafted confections. We will also tour the Edelweiss Chalet on-site. Pick up a chocolate sampler gift box, or perhaps an Advent calendar for a grandchild. The shop carries sugar-free chocolate candies as well. 2 Saint Edwards State Park Hike Let s go for a hike at Saint Edwards State Park. It is a wonderful day-use park with many well-groomed trails from easy to difficult. The new Arboretum Tram ride is 1.5 hours of docent lead spectacular beauty of orchestrated planting all coming together to showcase Fall. The Tacoma Dome comes alive with over 550 booths, live music performances and cooking demonstrations. If you can t go to visit all the vendors, it s quite alright because your admission fee with a hand stamp allows you entrance to all four days of the show. The food court and food trucks will be on site to satisfy your appetite. Tour fee includes transportation, parking and admission to the festival. $88 nonmember/$44 member M Thursday. Oct 20, 9am - 2pm Afternoon Matinee And Dinner We offer another hidden local gem the Woodinville Repertory Theater s production of the comic/crime story, Arsenic and Old Lace. It is the story of a drama critic who learns on his wedding day that his beloved maiden aunts are homicidal maniacs and that insanity runs in the family. The performance takes place in a warehouse (Denali Slab & Tile Studio). Dress for weather (hot or cold). Heaters will be provided if it 19 gets too cold. Afterwards, we will go to the Big Fish Café for an early dinner (on your own). $36 nonmember/$18 member N Saturday, Oct. 22, 1:40pm - 6:30pm Yves Saint Laurent: Seattle Art Museum The Perfection of Style. With a selection of over 100 haute couture and rive gauche garments, as well as many accessories, photographs, drawings, films and other multimedia elements, the exhibition is a visually rich environment within which to witness the development of Saint Laurent s style, from the 50 s, to his retirement. Besides finished garments, the immersive working process from his first sketch and fabric selection to the various stages of production and fitting before a final garment was realized. We will have lunch at the Taste Café at the museum, cost not covered. $60 nonmember/$30 member N Wednesday, Oct 26, 930am - 1:30pm Museum Of Flight Aviation at its best! Our group will be treated to a one -hour docent guided tour and then enjoy lunch at the Wings Cafe on-site. Your trip includes admission to the museum and one reserved seat at the movie of your choice. The trip fee reduces by $2 if you do not wish to choose a movie. After lunch you may browse the exhibits or check out the static display of aircraft as you learn about the past, present and future of flight. 5 Holiday Buffet Begin our holiday season with a delicious gourmet buffet prepared by Edmonds Community College for this annual tradition and some fine dining. Pick up at the Church lot and at Kenmore Senior Center. $50 nonmember/$25 member K Thursday, Dec 1, 11am - 2pm Holocaust Center For Humanity This museum, opened in downtown Seattle in October 2015, is a moving tribute to the millions of Jews who lost their lives in the Holocaust. Through stories and artifacts of local Holocaust survivors, the museum s exhibit engages visitors in the history of Holocaust. The Stories Among Us exhibit consists of seven stories from the Holocaust as told by the experience of six survivors and one liberator that live or have lived in Washington State. Each person s story provides a different perspective of the Holocaust from experience as a refugee, to those in a concentration camp, to a U.S. soldier s liberation of Buchenwald. There are many creative displays plus live entertainment, food and snacks and shopping for gifts made by local artists. Dinner is on your own. The first stop is Warm Beach to view the Lights of Christmas and sample some delicious festival foods. Lodging will be in Bellingham, just a short drive from the festival. Friday morning enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast buffet and a leisurely check out. The van will make a stop at Whatcom Falls and Boulevard Park. Walk down the boardwalk capturing the spectacular photos of the seaside. We will meet at up at Woods Coffee on the beach for a hot drink and rest. One mile away is the Historic Fairhaven District. You will have time to shop and grab a bite to eat. We will head home via scenic Chuckanut Drive. There is a Plan B for indoor activities in case of inclement weather.
