We then drive to the trail head on Winston Churchill Road. Hike about 2.5 hours. Expect a steady climb at the start for about 35 minutes, then mostly downhill. Dress for the weather, bring plenty of water, a snack, hiking boots and hat. Afterwards, we enjoy a pub lunch at Terra Cotta Inn. DIRECTIONS: Take Hwy 401 west and turn north on Mississauga Road. After 24 km turn left on to King Street. You don t have to be an expert. All welcome! Bring your single friends! We will be playing BEST DRIVE, meaning that for the drive only, on holes greater than 150 yards; players pick up their balls and place them in line with the ball of the player who has the best drive. There will be prizes for CLOSEST TO THE HOLE and LONGEST DRIVE at designated holes with a maximum of one prize per golfer. Cost: green fees of $30.50 for seniors and $43.50 for adults, plus $5 UKC levy. Rentals available: clubs $20, pull cart $5 and power carts $30 for seniors, $32 for adults (2017). Meet at the north entrance of High Park, on Bloor St W at High Park Ave, a 3-minute walk from the High Park subway station. Please be on time. For those coming by car, arrive early to allow walking time to meet us at the park entrance at 10:20, OR meet at 10:40 in front of the Grenadier Cafe, where the large parking lot (free) is located. There is also free parking spaces along some of roads into and out of the park. We will hike through various sections of High Park for about 90 minutes. Then have lunch at Grenadier Cafe on the back patio. After lunch, we may have an additional one-hour walk for those interested, to different parts of the park. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water and dress appropriately for the weather. The $5 UKC levy will apply.
