2 AVOCADO ALERT! The CA season has ended, creating a limited supply in product prior to the Mexican harvest being up to maturity standards and ready to pick. We are working on sourcing all sizes to fill in where we can. With short supply comes drastic price increases. Please be prepared for higher then usual pricing on all avocados. Quality and Supply News Damage from previous high heat still causing shortages & strong markets for Eggplant, Red & Yellow Onions, Red & Yellow Bells, Toybox Cherry & Heirloom Tomatoes. -Arugula, Spring Mix & Baby Spinach: High heat & mildew issues limiting supplies- prices are up this week. -Brussels Sprouts: New crop from Half Moon Bay is in, hand harvested; limited to start. A strong market on this early side of the season. -Chilies: The famous, delicious Hatch variety is in from NM for 3 weeks +/-. Red Fresnos wicked scarce & pricey- primarily from MX. Consider using Local Organic Red Jalapenos. -Black Mission Figs! Second season of Fresno fruit is on, now through September. - Grapes: Kyoho Concords have started from Fresno, available a month or so, sold per 16-pound case only. Peony variety due in mid-week; preorder now! -Spuds: New crop Yukon & Reds now from Stockton, with some from WA; running heavy on medium sizes & light on larger A and AA s. Also, new crop Banana Fingerlings are in from OR: Perfect timing this year, as ID crops just ended. Kennebecs coming from both Kern County (ending, quality hit/miss) & WA (just starting) but limited. Expect some variance. -Tomatoes: Comanche Creek Toybox Cherry & Mixed Heirloom Tomatoes limited/close to finishing.
