2 Quality and Product News: Berries: Strawberry supply continues to be tight. Cooler temperatures, fog plus shorter growing days in Oxnard is slowing growth. We ll source out berries from both CA & MX this week to cover your orders. -Garlic: Organic Green Garlic from Knoll Farms is steady & quality is improved after some rain challenges. The Knolls are now shipping once weekly, but should bump up to twice weekly by February as more of their crops come on. Spring Red Onions expected to start up soon. -Living Butter Lettuce from the Central Coast was unavailable last week because of mudslides that closed Hwy Finger Limes: Shanley Farms continues to eke out fruit for us this week, which should land in time for your Wednesday deliveries. -We want to see how you use all the great seasonal product! 3 Farm Spotlight: County Line Thermal David Retsky started County Line Harvest on a six-acre plot on the Sonoma-Marin County line before moving over the hill in 2007 to Red Hill Ranch in Marin County. Shortly after settling in on the new property, Marin Agriculture Land Trust acquired the easement on Red Hill Ranch, preserving it forever as farmland. Not only did this new property provide more acreage for cultivation, but the abundance of renewable on-site water and the MALT easement helped ensure the continuation of County Line's goal to provide fresh produce to its surrounding communities. Over the years, CLH has developed a strong relationship with Greenleaf. We couldn t be more proud that Greenleaf s commitment to the farm has provided the needed sustainredthe farm and business. 4 Cheese & Specialty News News: -Cypress Grove Lamb Chopper is in short supply until the next batch ships from Holland sometime in March. -Evolution organic grapefruit juice is back in stock. -Redwood Hill Smoked Goat Cheddar will be out until mid-month while the current batch is being smoked. -Castelvetrano olives are delayed as brining on the new batch finishes up. Eta late this week or early next. -Glaum organic eggs are in short supply because the farm is rotating their barns. All should be back to normal within a week. -Caveman Blue #8707 is back in inventory! -Dates for the annual California Artisan Cheese Festival have been announced.
