2 Van Abel s of Hollandtown History Arriving in 1848 in what is now Holland, Wisconsin, Martin Van Abel started a rest point for the cattle drives towards Green Bay. This place was a saloon as well as an Inn on the second floor. (This picture hangs in the front entry.) Martin s Son s Bill and Albert took over the business after Martin. Through prohibition and the Great Depression times were tough but the business struggled through. Soon After Returning from a German Concentration camp in WWII Bill s Son Wilfred and his brother Don built what is now the Front Bar, Dining room, and Bowling Alley. The Main Hall was added soon after. With the aid of their spouses, Bernice and Duff, recipes and traditions were created. Roasted Chicken was the handy work of Mag Eiting. The now famous Broasted Chicken followed in the summer of Minor renovations and additions continued through the years until 1984 when the North Bar was added. In 2002 Will and Don passed the business to their ten children. Renovations continued with the new restrooms and the addition of Off-Site catering. We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with you on your catering needs. If there is anything outside this menu that would peak your interest, be rest assured that Van Abel s would be able to help you create an event tailored to your needs. Van Abel s of Hollandtown Off Site Catering Services include table covers for the buffet tables, as well as premium disposable flatware, plates, cups, and napkins. Clean up of tables is the responsibility of the event planner. A service charge will be applied to each event. Small groups may have an additional charge. Ask your Van Abel s of Hollandtown Signature Event Planner for a complete quote. If a full service event is to your liking we can do that also. This event hosted by our Exclusive Van Abel s of Hollandtown Catering Team includes staff to setup, maintain, and takedown the buffet. Van Abel s of Hollandtown Off Site Catering Services include linen table covers for the buffet tables, as well as premium disposable flatware, plates, cups, and napkins. Buffet lines will be decorated according to the season or the theme of your event. China is also available to make the occasion extra special. A service charge will be applied to all events. Groups under the stated minimum of each menu may have additional charges added to the event. Service staff for the event will be charged based on the menu chosen. Ask your Van Abel s of Hollandtown Signature Event Planner for a complete quote. We ask that you provide a buffet style table (depending on the meal selected) between 8-16 feet. We can arrange for more tables, chairs, and dinnerware or tent service if you would like. Costs will be determined at the booking of the event. Also available are bar staff to provide beverage service. We will accept cash, check, credit or debit card at the time of the event as a form of payment.
