2 Hello Everyone, Wow another month has just flown by. Cannot believe that it is almost June, thank goodness spring has finally arrived and summer is just around the corner. Hope you have been able to get some much needed riding in here lately. Hope you all have your registrations in for the Ohio Buckeye Rally, it is fast approaching. Our Chapter will be doing registration on Friday June 15 th from 1pm to 5pm. Looking forward to seeing you all at Buckeye Rally. We had two bikes show up for the ride on May 6 th, so Cherryhair and I went over to visit Jim Lust in Galion. We had a nice visit with Jim and Donna then we went to Chapter B s mall show and visited with those fine folks. We had a great time at Chapter T s fundraiser on the 12th with Denny and Cathy. If you missed it you missed a good time. We had a good time at Chapter B s fundraiser on the 20 th. Our Chapter is always well represented at this event. We have some good events coming up for June which are on our chapter ride schedule so keep your ride schedule handy so you do not miss out on any upcoming events. Till next month we will see you down the road. Wayne & Debra Wolf CD s Hello Bikers, Spring is here but it needs to stop raining because we want to get out and ride, ride, ride. It's is really nice for me to be able to ride again. It's been since Father's day last year that we have had a bike to ride. It will be nice to be on two wheels instead of four wheels for all the chapter events. Monday, May 28th will be our first parade of the year. We will meet at the Pump House in Ashland on 4th Street at 9:30 a.m. Remember to bring your Red, White & Blue to decorate your bike for the parade. After the parade we will be riding to The Rail in Strongsville for lunch. If you have not yet registered for the Buckeye Rally please do so soon. 3 Ken Cook s Pizza Casserole 1 LB Ground Beef 1 LB Bulk Pork Sausage 5-6 OZ sliced Pepperoni, divided 2 24 OZ Cans Pasta Sauce 2-4 OZ Cans mushroom stems & pieces drained 1 LB Lasagna Noodles 2 Large Onions, Chopped 1 Large Bell Pepper, Chopped 1/3 Cup Louisiana Hot Sauce + or to taste Dash of Garlic Powder 3 Cups Shredded Mozzarella cheese In a large skillet combine the ground beef, sausage, onions, and bell pepper. Over medium heat, cook until the meat has browned, the vegetables are tender and the moisture has evaporated. Reserve 24 pepperoni slices and cut the remainder in half. Stir the cut pepperoni into the ground meat mixture and simmer until the pepperoni fat has rendered. Remove from heat and drain thoroughly. In a large pot combine the pasta sauce and drained mushrooms. Stir in the meat mixture and bring to a simmer. Add a dash of garlic powder, if desired, and the Louisiana Hot sauce adjusting for taste. While the sauce simmers, in a separate pot cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions and drain. While the lasagna noodles are cooking place the reserved pepperoni on a paper towel on a microwave safe plate and nuke for seconds to render fat. Blot dry with additional paper towel and set aside. Place a ladle of sauce in a 9 x13 baking dish and spread to coat the bottom. Place three noodles on sauce and cover with more sauce. Repeat layers until all noodles and sauce are used. Cover top layer with shredded mozzarella cheese. Distribute reserved pepperoni slices on top of cheese. Bake in a 350 degree oven for minutes or until bubbly and cheese has browned around the edges. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. April Progressive Drawing Deb Wolf was Aprils lucky winner. 4 Here we are in the middle of May, and the weather is still jumping around. Hope everyone has had a chance to get out and do some riding. The winter picnic weather was cool, no motorcycles, but GOOD FOOD!!!! In a recent motorcycle article relating to accidents, people were ask what was the primary cause for the accident? Most people said other drivers. The study showed out of 100 accidents, only 19 were caused by other drivers. 35 were caused by the motorcycle hitting someone from behind. Mostly caused by aggression, especially with younger drivers. We need to look far ahead ( ft. minimum ) looking for possible developing situations, and check our rear view mirrors regularly. When we are approaching a cross road intersection with vehicles stopped, as we have the right-of-way, if the drivers are NOT looking at us, we need to slow down, and look for a safe exit, if needed. Keep all those in time of need, and recovering from health issues, in our prayers. Looking forward to riding again and hope my arm keeps healing. The doctor said all looks good and can do whatever I want. He told me the pain will let me know if I am overdoing it. Haven t attended a couple rides because we have been unable to ride the bike. Right now we are planning to ride in the Memorial Day Parade and hope you are too. Pray that we have good weather for that and the lunch ride following. Our Winter picnic was a bit chilly but well attended. As always it was a good time with our Gold Wing friends. Had to eat my vegetable soup fast before it cooled off. Ken Cook brought a Pizza Casserole that was a hit with everyone. The recipe is in this newsletter. Hope you can all make it to our chapter events that are getting more numerous as the weather warms. Don t forget to send in your registration for the Buckeye Rally, June 14th 16th. I have talked to several Chapter B members and they are working hard getting everything ready. There is an application in the back of this newsletter. 5 Chef Stimey Stirring the stew Look at all that good food Everyone had to bundle up this year The sun was out but it the temperature was cool Retro Wing With the nostalgia craze in full swing. Honda, wanting to cash in on this trend, has developed a new motorcycle called the Retro Wing. It is made on a 1976 frame and body work with an updated suspension system for better handling. The biggest feature of the new bike is the installation of the new and improved 2018 Gold Wing engine. This should give the spirited performance that many people are looking for. Production will begin soon, as most of the testing is done. The only problem is that they may not be available in the U.S. for a while. Company officials are waiting to see if the new tariffs that may be imposed will affect their bottom line. At this time, the suggested price is 1,606,155 YEN ($15,000 U.S.) which may well be worth waiting for. Since this is a bare bones motorcycle it will be interesting to see if Vetter develops fairings and saddlebags for these units as they did for the original Gold Wings. Sometimes I feel so inept. Like when there's a baseball player who's worth $250 million, and I can't remember his or her name. It's better to be poor than to be rich. The rich always have to fear becoming poor, but the poor never have to fear becoming rich. (5)
