6 SHKP promotes exercise for good and raises three million with Hong Kong Cyclothon 新鴻基地產運動行善為香港單車節籌得 300 萬善款 Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited (SHKP) was the title and charity sponsor of the successful SHKP Hong Kong Cyclothon organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board on 25 September. More than 4,600 people took part and entrants in the 50km Challenge Ride enjoyed Hong Kong s beautiful scenery along a route that took in three tunnels and three bridges for the first time. More than 500 SHKP staff entered different segments of the charity event 新地有超過 500 位同事和家屬參加不同組別的活動, 身體力行, 支持善舉 由新鴻基地產發展有限公司 ( 新地 ) 冠名及慈善贊助 香港旅遊發展局主辦的 新鴻基地產香港單車節 已於 9 月 25 日圓滿舉行, 雲集世界各地的單車好手同場競技, 全日活動吸引超過 4,600 名人士參加 其中,50 公里挑戰組的賽事首次跨越三隧三橋, 讓參加者破風的同時, 能夠飽覽香港的優美景色 SHKP Executive Director and Deputy Managing Director Victor Lui said at the opening ceremony: SHKP is committed to promoting exercise for good. The Hong Kong Cyclothon today and an indoor Bike Challenge for Charity held earlier have attracted over a million in donations, and SHKP will contribute two dollars for each dollar raised taking the total to three million to benefit children and youth in need. Proceeds from the 2016 Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon will go to The Boys & Girls Clubs Association of Hong Kong, J Life Foundation, The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and The Community Chest of Hong Kong. Children referred by the J Life Foundation and The Boys & Girls Clubs Association of Hong Kong took part in the Family Fun Ride with family members, and everyone got great enjoyment from the leisurely ride. SHKP Executive Director and Deputy Managing Director Mike Wong spoke at the prize presentation in late August, saying that the competition was about reading and unlocking creativity. There was a graduation ceremony on 25 August where apprentices thanked the mentors for their dedication and patience. Many in attendance were moved by their words.
