2 Sheraton s Farm Tours Showcase the Best of Two Worlds The culinary teams presented a series of Farm Tour events through Fall 2015 Reinventing the popular farm-totable concept. WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR THE FIRST-EVER RUM SCRUM COCKTAIL AND CULINARY CONTEST The Westin Kā anapali Ocean Resort Villas adds Maika i by Gabe Harvey of Kihei to its menus Kā anapali, Maui Deep Island Hawaiian Rum and The Westin Kā anapali Ocean Resort Villas have been mixing the ingredients for the first-ever Rum Scrum Cocktail and Culinary Contest, benefiting Maui Culinary Academy, for months. On July 25, the event partners shook, poured and announced the winners for this inaugural contest. Event attendees and judges sampled contest entries, which all featured Deep Island Hawaiian Rum, from four local mixologists and three local, celebrity chefs. Together, they named Maika i by Gabe Harvey of Kihei the most quintessential Hawaiian cocktail and Puerto Rican Pork Patty Mofongo and Bahamian Papaya Rum Upside Down Cake, both by Chef Lyndon Honda of Laulima Events, the best rum dishes. Read more That concoction from Kihei's Gabe Harvey was deemed "Hawaii's quintessential rum cocktail" recently in the first-ever Rum Scrum Cocktail and Culinary Contest at Pūlehu, an Italian Grill at Westin Kā'anapali Ocean Resort Villas. The event, held July 25, served as a benefit for Maui Culinary Academy. Attendees and judges sampled contest entries, which all featured Deep Island Hawaiian Rum, from four local mixologists and three local top chefs. 13 Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa OCEAN VODKA CONTEST Second annual Ultimate Ocean Cocktail Contest Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa and OCEAN Organic Vodka partnered together to find the Ultimate OCEAN Cocktail with a national and statewide recipe contest Ultimate Ocean Cocktail Contest Winner: Ross Steidel Drink: Da Poi Dog Six finalists were selected from hundreds of entries to join six celebrity chefs and six local nonprofit organizations for the Ultimate Ocean Showdown. Each of the winning teams were paired with a charity, and each charity benefitted from the prize money won for them.

15 Sheraton Kauai Resort 3 RD ANNUAL RUMFEST AT RUMFIRE POIPU BEACH The event will feature a variety of rums, island music and locally inspired plate lunches from Starwood Kauai. Event goers will global and local premium rums at RumFest at RumFire s tasting stations. 18 Sheraton Kauai Resort TOP MAI TAI CHALLENGE AT RUMFIRE POIPU BEACH 2015 Top Mai Tai Challenge Winner: Nalua Badua Drink: Plantation Mai Tai A 10-week competition between Kaua i hosted by Sheraton Kauai Resort and Young s Market Company of Hawaii. Badua was declared the champion following a four-hour final competition. Badua s winning Mai featured Tai Mount Gay Extra Old Rum, Whaler s Original Dark Rum, fresh lime juice, falernum, sugarcane juice, lemongrass simple syrup, and seasonal ingredients.
