Impairment begins with the first drink, so never drive after drinking. Make music, games and socializing the focus of parties, not alcohol. Don't let young people under age 21 have access to alcohol. Instruct bartenders to stop serving alcohol to impaired guests. Stop Underage Drinking 1,239 people died in alcohol-related crashes in Florida in of the drinking drivers in these fatal crashes were under the legal drinking age of 21. 35 Community Traffic Safety Team Program The Community Traffic Safety Team Program is a multi-disciplined, Federal, State, and Local Government endorsed program developed to reduce the number of traffic crashes that occur on Florida roadways. The program was created in response to federal legislation (the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1990), which calls for local participation and solutions to traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities on local roadways. Our membership consists of professionals in four disciplines: Law Enforcement, Engineering, Emergency Services, and Education. We possess the resources and skills to directly impact the epidemic problems that Florida faces on our roadways. Armed with carefully developed missions, goals and objectives, the Committees undertake projects and activities and serve as a resource to any and all communities, local government agencies, and roadway users to assist in the reduction of traffic crashes and the related injuries and fatalities on our roadways.
