4 Employee of the Month November 2018 CONNIE CASILLAS Thank you for Supporting The Athenaeum The Athenaeum Architectural Preservation Fund (AAPF) Mrs. Kay Onderdonk & Mr. Robert Sutton Dr. and Mrs. Mark Wiedenbeck Connie Casillas is our Employee of the Month. She has been a part of the housekeeping team at The Athenaeum for four years. Her willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty is what makes her an exemplary employee. Asked what she loves about working at The Athenaeum, Connie says, My favorite thing is you get to see and meet new people from all different parts of the world. She cites her team as the reason she loves working here: This award isn t just for me, it s for the team. Connie is a loving mother to four children and grandmother to five. She was born in Orange, California, and worked as an English teacher in Aguascalientes, Mexico, for ten years. She has also worked as a supervisor of housekeeping and laundry and as the food director at the Sacred Heart Retreat House. Outside of work, Connie enjoys cross-stitching, ceramic painting, and gardening. Her creative spirit is evident this year, she took home the third place prize in the annual Athenaeum pumpkin-carving contest! Congratulations, Connie, on a job well done!
