1 Tuesday, February 26, 2013 Dear Families: Next week, beginning Monday, March 4th, the IOWA tests will be administered to grades 3-7. Please make sure your child is on time and has eaten breakfast. Also please avoid scheduling appointments as when children test with their classmates, studies show they score better. Congratulations to David Sandoval, John Napolitano, Madelyn Hamer and Meghan Bakey. They were the winners of the essay contest sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. David Sandoval received a$100 gift card. Mr. DiMeo and Mr. Costella, representing Nativity Council, presented the students with their awards. The theme of this year s contest was, Why should I go to mass? The Incentive and Rewards Committee would like me to remind you that box tops are due this Friday. Please send them in, as the committee must submit them by March 1st. Thank you!! Have you visited Cornerstone to view your child s report card? I did a security review and noticed that many families in grades 1-8 have never signed on. We gave you the report card at the 1st marking period. The 2nd, 3rd and final report cards will only be viewable on Cornerstone. If you have forgotten your login information please me and I will forward it to you. Tonight, there will be a meeting for First Eucharist 2nd Grade Parents at 7 PM at the St. Luke Campus in the church. Fashion Show tickets are on sale! Please join us at Paris Caterers on March 10th. Find the flyer online at Track Registration is beginning. Students in grades K-8 are allowed to participate. Please complete the attached registration and return it to Athletics, c/o the Main Office. Don t forget, Confirmation Practice is at 7:30 on March 5th at the Lindenwold Campus. Your child s sponsor should attend, if the sponsor is not able to then a parent/guardian should stand in their place. The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated on Thursday, March 7th at 5 PM. Just a reminder to all our volunteers, you must attend CAP 1 or 2 by March 31st. If you have never attended CAP, please register for CAP 1. The March dates are on our website. Friday we have a 1 PM dismissal for grades (K-8) and 12:30 PM for preschool. Our 4th graders are preparing our First Friday Liturgy for March 1st. Before he arrived in Africa in 1841, nearly nothing was known about its geography, plants, animals, or natives but his extensive travels over 30 years and his many books and teachings introduced its wonders. During one of his many expeditions to the interior, he completely lost touch with the outside world for six years. Fellow explorer Henry Stanley searched for him for nearly eight months before finding him on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. When Livingstone came out of a hut to meet him, Stanley greeted him with the now famous line, Dr. Livingstone, I presume?
