11 OUR HOTEL GENERAL INFORMATION The Charlotte Marriott City Center is one of the premier Uptown Charlotte hotels, where you will discover spacious rooms and suites, unique dining experiences along with a talented and dedicated staff. Our Charlotte Ballroom features contemporary crystal chandeliers warm tones, and provides the perfect backdrop for a stylish, lavish, simple or intimate celebration. At 9,100 square feet, this grand, elegant setting is ideal for 100 to 500 guests. The Uptown Ballroom features floor to ceiling picture windows overlooking beautiful uptown Charlotte. Gorgeous silk drapes in soft neutrals frame the room and without a doubt your out-of-towners know they are in the heart of the city. This intimate setting is ideal for groups up to 100 guests and is stunning day or night and any season of the year. Our Culinary Team is proudly lead by the Culinary Director, Chris Coleman. Chef Coleman graduated from a Central Piedmont Community College and started his culinary career at The McNinch House in In 2013 he moved to The Asbury as an Executive Chef where his restaurant won a 2016 s BOB (Best of the Best) Award for Southern American cuisine, thanks to Chef Coleman s modern inspirations of Southern classics. Chris Coleman built a strong relationship with local farmers, sourcing most of the hotel s menu locally. He leads our Culinary Team in exploring local fare, providing our guests with an unforgettable dining experience. 12 MENU TASTING Once a contract is signed, we will be delighted to set up a time for a menu tasting (up to 4 guests), recommended within 90 days prior to your wedding. Your Marriott Certified Event Professional will discuss a convenient time during the planning phase, scheduled Monday through Friday during non-peak meals hours. Cocktail items are not included during your tasting. MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES There may be additional charges to consider when planning your wedding. These charges may include, but are not limited to: children s meals and vendor s meals for your band, photographer, or DJ, power and extra staging for band set-up. Extra staging pieces are available at $75 per piece. DEPOSIT A non-refundable deposit equal to 25% of the total estimated revenue is required to confirm your date. OUTSIDE VENDORS As a policy of the hotel, all vendors contacted by our clients must follow the hotel s procedures at all times, including appropriate times to set-up and strike your function, loading dock hours, fire codes, noise limitations, etc. contact names to be given to the Event Manager s office to each vendor. Hotel will not be responsible for any items brought into the hotel by contacted vendors. SERVICE CHARGE &SALES TAX 25% taxable service charge and current sales tax applies to all charges, including food, beverage, rental and audio visual fees. Taxes are subject to change. GUEST COUNT & MINIMUM COMMITMENT Your final guarantee is due 10 business days prior to the event. At that point, it is possible to increase the guest count number but not reduce the number below your final guaranteed count. If guests exceed the guarantee, appropriate charges will be incurred. MARRIOTT DÉCOR & ENTERTAINMENT Your wedding at the Charlotte Marriott City Center will include floor length white or ivory cotton linens with coordinating cotton napkins, Chiavari chairs for your ceremony and reception, and votive candles to accompany your centerpieces. Up lighting is available on site, provided by PSAV, at an additional cost. Any special décor, such as upgraded linens, centerpieces, or entertainment may be consulted with your Event Manager, or provided by a vendor of your choice. TECHNICAL SERVICES PSAV is Hotel s preferred provider for audio/visual needs. Because the use of another provider will necessarily involve the use of some of Hotel s and PSAV s equipment and expertise, a prevailing fee will be charged if you select such a provider. Hotel has exclusive power and rigging rights and additional fees can be occurred for power (fees will depend upon the set up needs). MARRIOTT REWARDS Marriott Rewards points can be earned after your event. You will receive 3 points per catering dollar (food, beverage, and audio visual), excluding sales tax and service charge. The maximum points earned are 50,000 per event. Points earned will be applied after the event. Please provide your Marriott Rewards 9-digit account number, name, address and phone number. Guest room rates do not include breakfast or taxes. FOR YOUR GUESTS GIFT BAGS/BASKETS If you choose to provide your out of town guests with a Welcome Gift Bag/Basket, we will be delighted to present these to your guest at check in.
