No, it s not the full moon that lit the skies last night nor the coming of the fall equinox tomorrow. It s not the sudden change in the foliage along the ridgeline above the office nor is it the chill that awaits me in the office each morning and at home each night. It s the squirrels. On the roads, perched in the walnut trees out my window, they seem to be everywhere. And they all have nuts in their mouths. No one is taking this as a good sign. Might just have to start looking for a good deal on snow tires. KIWI BERRIES: the first crop of kiwi berries arrived last week. Picked early, the kiwi berries are a bit under ripe. The beauty of these beauties is that they only get better and riper as they get older in the cooler. The current variety is Passion Popper. This is a can t miss treat. KALE: Green, Redbor and Lacinato! Lots of it! Come and get it! GREEN BEANS: New Morning Farm had two plantings of green beans come in at the same time. The result.we have a good bit of good green beans! BACK ON THE MENU: Arugula, Mesclun Mix, Sweet & Spicy Mix. Local greens at their best!
