2 The Ladies Singles Plate The Ladies Singles Plate is presented to the Ladies Singles Champion (from 1886 to date). The Ladies Singles Trophy is a silver salver, sometimes referred to as the Rosewater Dish or Venus Rosewater Dish which was first won by the Champion when the challenge round was introduced in The 50 guineas trophy was made in 1864 by Messrs Elkington & Co. Ltd of Birmingham and is a copy of an electrotype, obtained by Casper Enderlein, from a pewter original in the Louvre. From 1949 to 2006 all Champions have received a miniature replica of the trophy (diameter 8 inches). From 2007 all Champions have received a three quarter size replica of the trophy, bearing the names of all past Champions (diameter 14 inches).

The palate is richly textured with grapefruit and peach characters, complemented by an oily texture and mineral notes all held together by a crisp acidity that leads to a lingering finish. 16 Mâcon Villages Domaine Fichet Les Crepilliones 2011 France Crisp, lemony fruit. Floral and quite complex. Nice, fresh example of Chardonnay and the Mâcon-Villages AC. 18 Riva Leone Gavi 2011/2012 Italy ABV 13.5% Delicate with intense fruity and lemony notes. Clean and fresh with a long lingering, citrusy finish A2O Albarino 2011 Spain Delicate tongue-tingling apricot fruit with a lingering mineral and spice finish. 20 Sancerre Blanc Le Manoir Andre Neveu 2011/2012 France Rich nose with hints of ripe apple and pear, citrus and spices. It has a full mouth feel and great aromatic intensity. Dense, rich and very persistent on the finish. 21 Pouilly Fumé Les Berthiers Claude Michot 2011 France A lively, fresh and elegant wine with a long finish marked by steely gunflint flavours and hints of blackcurrant. 22 Chablis Terroirs de Chablis Patrick Piuze 2012 France ABV 13.5% Vibrant, mineral-driven aromas of chalk, white peach and mint. Stony and refreshing, with very good cut to the flavours of powdered stone and mint. Finishes lively and dry, with classic Chablis minerality. Rosé Jacob s Creek Shiraz Rosé Australia By the glass 175ml 5.30 A soft and delicate palate displaying bright flavours of raspberry and strawberry cream with cherry nuances. Freshness balance of fruit provide length to the finish. 44 Argento Malbec Rosé 2012 Argentina ABV 13% This sophisticated Malbec Rosé offers intense aromas of fresh red berries, with concentrated cherry fruit flavours and a hint of melon. A beautifully balanced wine with crisp acidity and a lively finish Château d Esclans Whispering Angel 2011/2012 France ABV 13% Pale salmon in colour, this is delicate and fresh with plenty of crisp strawberry fruit and a long finish. Red 28 El Muro Tinto Tempranillo / Garnacha 2011/2012 Spain By the glass 175ml 4.80 This is a soft, fruity, easy going red with lots of dark berry fruit and just a twist of pepper on the finish. It is smooth and easy drinking. 29 Alto Bajo Merlot 2012 Chile ABV 14% Lovely and smooth, with juicy plum, blackberry and damson fruit served up with lashings of mocha coffee and chocolate Jacob s Creek Reserve Barossa Shiraz 2010 Australia ABV 14.2% By the glass 175ml 5.60 Full bodied yet soft, the palate shows ripe black fruits layered subtly with carefully handled stylish oak, supported by silky textured fruit tannins and balanced acidity, concluding with a long, savoury finish.

5 32 Brancott Estate Terraces T Letter Series Pinot Noir 2011 New Zealand ABV 14% The best Brancott Estate Pinot Noir from a single vineyard built into a hillside on the original Brancott Vineyard. The deep garnet red colour reflects the depth of fragrance. Ripe, dark red berry and stone fruit aromas about are highlighted with complex, spicy oak highlights and savoury nuances. The palate is deceptively mellow and continues the fruit themes while adding chocolate and mocha smoothness to the mélange of fleshy stone fruit flavours. Savoury complexity and spice add breadth to the mid palate while smooth velvety tannins provide a seamless balance with the rich fruit concentration. 34 Fleurie Millesime Cave de Fleurie 2011 France A striking and vivid red colour with several punnets worth of red berry fruit on the nose and palate.
