3 winery tradition generation innovation Our winery is located in the heart of the wine-growingregion of Carnuntum in the wine-village Göttlesbrunn. Here our family mainly produces complex and wellstructured red wines full of juice (75 %), as well as refreshing, fizzy and aromatic whites. We try to maintain the elegance, finesse, and character of both the grapes and the wines in order to make every sip an unparalleled experience. Zweigelt is undoubtedly the King of our grapes he is very typical for our region and can therefore be found through our entire range starting from classic up to premium.

5 vineyard I can resist everything but temptation. (oscar wilde) Our vines grow, thrive, and ripen on 26 ha of the soft hills of the Arbesthaler Hügelland. Though the nearby River Danube contribute to the regions uniqueness, it is primarily the warm pannonian lowland around the Lake Neusiedl that forms the climate of our region. Powerful warm air streams from the east result in highly ripened grapes, while the balancing and cool nightly winds from the North prevent an overwhelming fruity or jammy flavor. The unique combination of these two counteracting forces produces perfect and harmonious conditions for our grapes allowing them to mature into strong wines just as the hills intended.

7 soil Loess, Loam, Gravel and Sand these are the four components of our soils that cultivate the nutritious and deep basis for our vines; Together, with the soft hills facing south-east, they are responsible for constant ripening and the premium quality of our grapes. The expansive and diverse variety of our soils builds the ideal foundation for the array of grapes we produce. It is for this reason almost every vine discovers its individual and specific place in our region to grow and thrive under its destined conditions.

That s how he transformed a mixed agricultural farm with only a few vines into the renowned winery it is today. After his education at the wine-school in Klosterneuburg, he acquired the family business, but concentrated solely on making winewhat a success! He is responsible for the cellar, the vineyards, public relations, sales- for everything actually! Christine the Compassionate the heart and soul of our house, combines the pleasure of taste with extraordinary sensory talent. She established the winery alongside her husband, Franz, and as a Diplomsommeliere she is responsible for public relations, sales, and the office.

11 people Christina the Creative is bursting with ideas and brings an electric and invigorating new energy into the winery. In 2007 she finished her studies for International Wine Management and Marketing, and began to work with her parents in the winery. She is responsible for sales, public relations, marketing, the office, and she guides the vines from the time they shoot until harvest, and escorts the wines from ferments until they have flawlessly matured. Peter The Nature-boy Is running his own winery, but he is here to help me with words and deeds all the time! Lots of work in the vineyards is done together now and he is always bringing new ideas close to nature. 13 people Annemarie the Whirlwind always inspires smiles and high spirits. After her studies for entrepreneurship she started to work outside the winery, but spends every free minute with us and can always be counted on as a helping hand on our side.

15 carnuntum No enjoyment is temporary, because the impression it leaves is enduring. (j.w. von goethe) As unique as the soil it was erected on, Carnuntum is distinctively placed between the warm Lake Neusiedl and the chilling wind producer, the River Danube. It is due to this crucial point that we are able to simultaneously achieve well ripened, as well as fresh notes in our wines. Moreover, here you can find a plethora of charismatic winemakers, who are famous for their team spirit and are second to none in regards to camaraderie. In addition, Carnuntum is also a region deeply rooted in history. In the 4 th century many prominent Romans called it home, thus leaving their everlasting influence long after they left. Not only did they impart an affinity for wine, they also left magnificent houses within the ruins of Carnuntum- of which have been excavated and glorified to the extent of the Heidentor remaining as the official symbol of the region.

This factor allows for the intensive aromatic and fizzy acidity in the grapes to be preserved. 25 Ried Bärnreiser Weißburgunder 2016 vineyard soil climate vinification Alc. content total acidity Bärnreiser loess and gravel Bärnreiser is a very warm location with deep and nutritious loess soils, which store the warmth of the hot summer days and release it during the nights to bring constant ripening therefore producing a very intensive fruit aromatic. The Pinot blanc loves the pannonian climate with its warm late summers and falls. It is because of this combination the grapes get exceptionally ripe and we achieve such extraordinary extract on the palate. Very ripe grapes were harvested and hand selected at the end of September. The wine was fermented in small oak barrels and remained on the yeast for 6 month with regular stirring, to bring body and creamy structure to our Weißburgunder. 14 % Vol 5.7 g/l potential tasting notes pairing perfect glass ripe fruits like melons and a hint of pear in the nose, nuts and honey, well-structured and full-bodied palate, an abundance of juice, elegant freshness, creamy, endless pleasure Vegetable- and meat-dishes with exotic herbs, Asian dishes (Wok), soufflés and pastries, cheese Chianti-glass ideal temp. 10 C

27 Ried Bärnreiser Grüner Veltliner 2016 vineyard soil climate vinification Alc. content total acidity Bärnreiser loess and gravel Bärnreiser is one of our warmest vineyards with deep and nutritious loess soils, which store the warmth of the hot summer days and release it during the nights to bring about constant ripening and therefore produce a very ripe aromatic and wonderfully defined structure on the palate.. Extremely ripe grapes were selected and harvested at the beginning of October. Fermented in small oak barrels and remained on the yeast for 6 months with Battonage, which gives full-bodied structure and finesse. 14 % Vol 4.7 g/l potential tasting notes pairing perfect glass Velvety, multi-layered, well defined, and elegant on the palate, juicy, a splash of roasted aromas from the oak, well balanced, freshness on the palate, high potential heavy meat-dishes, Asian kitchen (Wok), vegetable-dishes with herbs, cheese Chianti-glass ideal temp. 10 C

29 Ried Schüttenberg Sauvignon blanc 2016 vineyard soil Klima Vinification Alc. content total acidity Schüttenberg dry gravel The Schüttenberg is the highest hill in our region and therefore the steepest slope. The dry and stony soil gets very hot during the sunny days, and as the nearby River Danube brings cool winds, the gravel quickly gets cold during the night. As a result, the aroma and freshness of the grapes are well preserved. The very ripest grapes of the single vineyard Schüttenberg were harvested by hand at the end of September. After 8 hours on the mash they were pressed and allowed to ferment in small used oak barrels. They were then stored on the yeast for another six months while receiving a regular stirring regiment to preserve the aromatic fruit as well as enforce the creamy texture of the wine 14 % Vol 5.5 g/l potential tasting notes pairing perfect glass ripe currant and some gooseberry in the nose, juice and a cascade of fruit on the palate, full-bodied and creamy with fresh acidity, elegant texture vegetables and meat with exotic spices, asian kitchen Chianti-glass ideal temp. 10 C

33 Rosanna Rosé Zweigelt 2017 vinification Our pannonian climate with the cool winds of the River Danube bring a very ripe, but also fresh cherry-fruit to our Zweigelt grapes resulting in wines with an aromatic fruit, smooth tannins and no shortage of elegance. The skin of the berries is home to the tannins and color for the red wines, which stay in the juice during all of fermentation. For the Rosanna, the juice stays with the skins for only a few hours and ferments separately afterwards, so the grape juices is only slightly colored by the skins and the typical ripe cherry-fruit is preserved. The grapes were harvested at the end of September. After 12 hours maceration on the skins, the juice was separated and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 19 C. 39 St. Laurent Selection 2015 vineyard soil climate vinification Alc. content total acidity Edles Tal & Bärnreiser nutritious loamy and loess soils The St. Laurent grapes love warm days, as they do cooler nights, and most importantly windy places like the Edles Tal. Our warm pannonian climate in combination with the cool winds from the River Danube therefore brings ideal conditions for this elegant variety. The grapes are able to ripen, while also keeping their typical fresh acidity, which makes the St. Laurent wines very interesting and charismatic. harvested in the middle of September by hand, the malolactic fermentation as well as the aging and the storage were stored in used French barriques. 13 % Vol 5.6 g/l potential tasting notes pairing perfect glass Ruby-garnet red, juicy sour cherry in the nose, elegant and well defined on the palate, harmonious and concentrated fruit, soft tannin, nice acidity, perfectly balanced dark meat, roasted, grilled or with a heavy sauce, all kinds of cheese Burgundy-glass ideal temp C

41 Rubin Carnuntum Zweigelt Selection 2016 Rubin carnuntum the brand of our region Carnuntum, always made of the characteristic grape Zweigelt, and is required to pass a professional tasting panel in order to bear the prestigious title of Rubin Carnuntum vineyard soil climate vinification alc. content total acidity Haidäcker, Holzweg, Kräften loam and loess The pannonian climate and the influence of the River Danube and the Lake Neusiedl lead to very ripe grapes with a refined and deep structure, but are also able to preserve their fresh fruit. Ideal conditions for our Zweigelt, which therefore makes it undoubtedly our most important grape. harvested at the end of September by hand, fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, the malolactic fermentation as well as the 10-month aging process were completed in used small French oak barrels 13.5 % Vol 5.6 g/l potential tasting notes pairing perfect glass dark ruby-garnet red with youthful reflection, black cherry in the nose, juicy berries and roasted aromas on the palate, well balanced and fresh and soft tannins, a wine with charm and potential for aging beef (loin, T-Bone-Steak, Roast beef), lamb, venison (in a heavy sauce), chicken in redwine, cheese, nuts but also ideal for long and pensive hours without a meal Bordeaux-glass ideal temp. 18 C

43 Edles Tal 2015 our blend of 60% Zweigelt, 30 % Merlot and 10 % Syrah. vineyard soil climate vinification alc. content total acidity Edles Tal, Kräften nutritious loam and loess Edles Tal brings a ripe and typical Zweigelt with lively character. The Merlot grape brings depth and a full-bodied palate, and to complete this wonderful blend we added some Syrah to bring spice and complexity. harvested at the end of September and beginning of October by hand, fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, the malolactic fermentation as well as the 15- month aging were completed in partly new and partly used small French oak barrels 14 % Vol 5.2 g/l potential tasting notes pairing perfect glass dark ruby-garnet red with youthful reflection, black berries in the nose, some orange zest, dark and juicy, well integrated roasted aromas on the palate, well balanced, full bodied and concentrated ripe tannin beef (loin, T-Bone-Steak, Roastbeef), lamb, venison (in a heavy sauce), chicken in red-wine, cheese, nuts but also ideal for thoughtful hours without a meal Bordeaux-glass ideal temp. 18 C

45 Ried Schüttenberg Syrah 2015 vineyard soil climate vinification alc. content total acidity Schüttenberg, Neuberg warm and dry gravel The hill Schüttenberg is the highest hill in our region. The dry and stony soil gets very hot during the hot summer days and as the close by River Danube brings cool winds the gravel gets quickly during the night. Thus, the grapes are graced with very hot temperatures throughout the day at which point they are able to ripen, but the vast temperature discrepancies between day and night keep their freshness, spice, and acidity high. The harvest was made in the middle of October. The malolacitc fermentation as well as the 15-month ageing were completed in new, small French oak barrels 14.5 % Vol 5.3 g/l potential tasting notes pairing perfect glass deep and dark ruby garnet, tobacco, dark berries and spice, a touch of black olive, fine sweetness of the extract, herbal notes, and a concentrated finish dark meat, goose liver, cheese, or the always worthy decision of being enjoyed on its own. 47 Ried Bärnreiser Merlot 2015 vineyard soil climate vinification Alc. content total acidity Bärnreiser nutritious loam and loess Bärnreiser is one of our warmest places, similar to a separate valley which stores the warm sunshine of the hot summer days and stays very warm during the nights as well. The deep soils keep the warmth for the grapes and therefore bring constant ripening, which is very important for the Merlot in our cool climate. As a result the vines yield a very high quality every year and a Merlot with dark fruit, a long and deep structure, and a very full-bodied palate. harvested at the middle of October by hand, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, the malolactic fermentation as well as the 14-month ageing were completed in small French oak barrels. 14,5 % Vol 5.2 g/l potential tasting notes pairing perfect glass Ruby-garnet with a dark core, dark and juicy berries, dried fruits, orange zest, nougat, smooth and full-bodied on the palate, concentrated and very long lasting heavy meat-dishes, grilled, roasted or with a sauce, lamb, cheese Bordeaux-glass ideal temp. 18 C

49 Ried Aubühl Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 vineyard soil climate vinification Alc. content total acidity Aubühel dry sand Generally, we are a cool climate region, but the Cabernet Sauvignon loves hot climates, so we do our best to appease its demands and plant him on pure and dry sand. The sand gets very, very hot during the day and the Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys the special climate of the Aubühel and produces ripe and dark wines every year. Havested in the middle of October by hand, The malolactic fermentation as well as the ageing and the 16 month during storage were completed in small French and American oak barrels. 14 % Vol 5.1 g/l potential tasting notes pairing perfect glass Ruby-garnet, black current, spicy aromas, some coffee and chocolate, vanilla, elegant structure, ripe and intensive tannins on the palate, very dense heavy meat-dishes, grilled, roasted or with a sauce, lamb, cheese Bordeaux-glass ideal temp. 18 C

51 Ried Haidacker Zweigelt 2015 vineyard soil climate vinification alc. content total acidity Haidacker nutritious loess with gravel on the top The soft south-facing hill and the influence of the pannonian lowland lead to a constant and very high ripeness of the grapes. The nutritious loess soils and cooler nights due to the nearby River Danube preserve the typical fresh fruit of the Zweigelt. This location strikes a superb balance between freshness and fruity and ripeness and structure - our best Zweigelt. the grapes were harvested by hand at the end of September with a good balance of ripeness and fruit, afterwards the grapes and every single berry were again selected and controlled in the cellar. Fermentation was in controlled stainless-steel tanks at a maximum of 30 C and the fresh wine was kept on the mash for another 3 weeks, after being gently pressed. The malolactic fermentation and 18-month-ageing were completed in new French barrels % Vol 4.9 g/l potential tasting notes pairing perfect glass ideal temp. 18 C dark ruby-garnet with violet reflexes, lots of juice and dark fruit in the nose, some nougat and roasty aromas, juicy cherry on the palate, good and very long lasting structure with ripe tannins at the back dark meat in a spicy sauce, ripe cheese with nuts Bordeaux-glass

53 Anna-Christina 2015 our premium blend, dedicated to our daughters Annemarie and Christina. 60 % Zweigelt - 30 % Merlot 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard soil climate vinification alc. content total acidity Bärnreiser special terroir of the Arbesthaler Hügelland, nutritious loam and loess For the Anna-Christina we use the best vineyard of every single variety. The Zweigelt comes from Haidacker, where it develops its typical high level of ripeness, but also fresh cherry fruit. Merlot grows at Bärnreiser a very warm place with deep soils which allow for constant ripening. Therefore, the wines are deep, structured, and full-bodied. Aubühel is the best place for Cabernet Sauvignon, because it is here it is allowed to fully ripen and contribute substantial tannins and dark fruit to our blend.
