1 SOUTH AFRICA Liberated by the advent of democracy, the South African wine industry has gone from strength to strength. The Cape winegrowing areas, situated in the narrow viticultural zone of the southern hemisphere, mainly have a Mediterranean climate and the mountain slopes and valleys form the ideal habitat for wine grapes, the products of which have given pleasure to man for many centuries. Long, sun-drenched summers and mild, wet winters contribute to the ideal conditions for viticulture.

2 SOUTH AFRICA DIAMOND BAY Diamond Bay has been specially selected by our wine buyers as they represent the classic flavours of South Africa s. The core of the grape supply is found just to the north of Stellenbosch, bordered by the town of Wellington to the north-east, and the mountains of the Drakenstein and Franschhoek ranges to the south-east. To the south-west, the region stretches all the way down to the coastal winegrowing districts of Durbanville and Philadelphia, while to the north-west it borders the Swartland wine district. Diamond Bay Tasting note: Intense tropical flavours of guava, ripe apple and pear on the palate. It has a fresh clean crisp acidity that washes over you and is wellbalanced with the vibrant fruit flavours. 3 SOUTH AFRICA DUDLEY S STONE Dudley s Stone reminisces about the 1869 discovery, when the first large diamond, the Star of South Africa was found in the country. On hearing of the stone, the Earl of Dudley purchased it, had it mounted on a head ornament with 95 smaller diamonds and gave it to the countess of Dudley it was hence known as the Dudley Diamond. The covers almost all of the South African winelands, wines from this region range from sturdy Rhone-style reds to aromatic s, in vineyards cooled by breezes off the Atlantic. Dudley s Stone Tasting note: Sumptuous aromas of peach and melon. These characteristics are echoed on the palate, where they are perfectly balanced with a zingy lime freshness and crisp, refreshing finish. Well-balanced with a medium body, integrated acidity and a smooth finish. 4 SOUTH AFRICA PARROTFISH Parrotfish wines are made from selected vineyards in South Africa s Western Cape, where the bracing Benguela current brings cool breezes perfect conditions for making fresh flavoursome wines. Parrotfish Tasting note: Produced from South Africa s signature white grape, this is a rich wine with guava, apple and ripe melon flavours and a long lingering finish. Code: C Parrotfish Tasting note: Pale lemon in colour this displays intense aromas of tropical fruit, complemented with hints of gooseberries and green apples. Crisp and medium bodied with a refreshing finish. Code: C Parrotfish Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Tasting note: Deep purple in colour, an intensely fruity wine with cherry on the nose, followed by flavours of blackcurrant and ripe red berry on the palate. 5 SOUTH AFRICA LUTZVILLE The is where you will find South Africa s most western vineyards facing the Atlantic Coast. The mists sweep in from the sea in the morning, the sun breaks through for most of the rest of the day, the vines remaining nicely aerated by the sea breeze. The wine route stretches for 75 miles along the river to Lutzille from Citrusdal, 112 miles from Cape Town. 6 SOUTH AFRICA RICKETY BRIDGE wine estate is undoubtedly one of the most progressive boutique wineries in the Cape. The historic wine making cellar was recently renovated and converted into a barrel fermentation centre, the new winery was built and modern cooling equipment was installed. Shadowed by the Dassenberg Mountains, the mild Franschhoek valley is the perfect canvas for winemaker Wynand Grobler to create a portfolio of outstanding Franschhoek wines. Brut Rosé Tasting note: This light salmony pink Méthode Cap Classique consists of a perfect blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. A delicate expression on the nose of citrus notes and hints of red berries.
