The palate has a vibrant acidity balanced by a soft texture and some citrus pithiness. La Bri Chardonnay 2016 (Franschhoek) 335/85 A great Chardonnay crisp, with a good acidity and a long, lingering finish. Babylonstoren Viognier 2016 (Paarl) 340/85 The floral nose and lime zest finish contribute to this wine s complete and perfect balance. Paul Cluver Close Encounter Riesling 2016 (Elgin) 335/85 Awesomely fragrant, with beautiful layers of fruits and florals. BAS Sauvignon Blanc 2016 (Franschhoek) 375ml 90/45 Flinty and mineral aromatics with hints of cape gooseberries. A tight, fresh palate and great balance. Porcupine Ridge Syrah 2016 (Franschhoek) 175/45 A deliciously balanced and distinct wine. Complex with fine-grained tannins. Eikehof Merlot 2014 (Franschhoek) 200/55 A well-balanced wine, boasting ripe plum, berry and coffee flavours. Complex in it s juicy and rich depth with soft polished tannins. Eikehof Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 (Franschhoek) 200/55 Aromas of blackberries contribute to a remarkably complex taste which is combined with hints of cinnamon and other spices. Ample Structure on the palate provides a mellow mouthfeel of delightfully ripe fruits, which leads to a lengthy and soft finish. 6 MULLINEUX & LEEU FAMILY WINES The Mullineux label is produced by Chris and Andrea Mullineux, a highly focused husband-and-wife winemaking team based near the village of Riebeek Kasteel in the Swartland region. Here they produce a select range of handcrafted wines from the granite- and shale-based soils of the area. Mullineux White 2015 (Swartland) 73% Chenin Blanc/13% Clairette Blanche/10% Viognier/4% Semillon Gris. Complex, with a beautiful balance of richness and freshness. Notes of ripe pears, peaches and almonds on the palate. 620 Mullineux Granite Chenin Blanc 2015 (Swartland) Exhibits a fantastic natural acidity that balances out the lovely texture and mid-palate that Swartland white wines possess. The nose is flinty with some stone fruit and citrus aromatics. 980 Mullineux Quartz Chenin Blanc 2015 (Swartland) A salty, mineral character on the nose and hints of oatmeal, ripe citrus and spice. The creamy palate shows white peach and almonds, and finishes with a fresh, lemon pithiness. Mullineux Syrah 2015 (Swartland) This perfumed Syrah has notes of spicy citrus rind, refined black fruit, violets and lilies. The palate is elegant and restrained yet with a silky texture and a fresh finish. Mullineux Schist Syrah 2014 (Swartland) From a single vineyard planted in the rocky schist soils of Kasteelberg. This structured Syrah has a nose of black pepper, black fruit and spices. The palate is full-bodied with a meaty, savoury character. Silky tannins give structure and length

8 WHITE VARIETAL WINES CHARDONNAY South African Chardonnay has come of age. The best examples are full and textured but balance weight with fruit and citrus aromatics, and a smooth yet fresh finish. GlenWood Vigneron s Selection 2015 (Franschhoek) 520 Full, rich and creamy. Almonds and vanilla with a lingering aftertaste of smoky peach and citrus. Leeu Passant Stellenbosch Chardonnay (Stellenbosch) A dramatic yet beautifully poised wine. Citrus blossom, lemon and orange spice on the nose. Huge fruit concentration and driving acidity. Layers and layers of flavour SAUVIGNON BLANC A delicate variety with thirst-quenching acidity, a healthy dose of minerality, green tropical fruit and a fresh, dry finish. La Motte Pierneef 2016 (Elgin) % Sauvignon Blanc/10% Semillon. This ample-bodied wine shows intense lemon, melon and green apple flavours complemented by aromas of the indigenous fynbos. SEMILLON Like Chenin Blanc, Semillon is a historically important grape variety for South Africa and many of the oldest vineyards are planted in Franschhoek. In South Africa, wines made from Semillon tend to exhibit a graceful power. Landau du Val 2013 (Franschhoek) 840 From a vineyard planted in Subtle notes of lime, peach, spice and hay with an intriguing herbal undertone. The palate is full and rich.

9 OTHER WHITE VARIETIES & BLENDS Often highly aromatic in style, we have selected these varietal wines as an aperitif or because they tend to pair well with spicy dishes. Cederberg Private Cellar Bukettraube 2016 (Cederberg) 280 These are some of the highest altitude vines in South Africa. Muscat flavours with apricots and floral fynbos notes hold a delicate sweetness and crisp acidity. Works extremely well with spice and bold Asian flavours. Thelema Riesling 2014 (Stellenbosch) 280 This off-dry, unwooded Riesling has a perfumed nose that shows spice, yellow fruit and lime. A juicy palate is delicately balanced with sweetness and acidity. Paul Cluver Gewürztraminer 2016 (Elgin) 310 The nose has a surprising combination of rose petal, litchi, cucumber and summer melon. A great match with mildly spicy food. Spioenkop Riesling 2015 (Elgin) 620 A sense of sweeter jasmine flowers, rosemary and dried apricot interplays with fresh coriander and garden thyme. Works extremely well with spice. De Morgenzon Maestro White Blend 2015 (Stellenbosch) 330 Consisting of Rousanne, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Viognier and Grenache blanc this wine shows notes of concentrated orange and yellow stone fruits, with hints of spice, citrus and blossoms on the nose. The palate is full-bodied, textured and nuanced with a lingering after taste. ROSÉ WINES Normandie Karen Rosè A Sophisticated Merlot rosé. Allusions of herbs surprise the palate before the subtle tannins lead to a persistently dry finish.

10 RED VARIETAL WINES CABERNET FRANC One of the parents of Cabernet Sauvignon, also used in Bordeaux-style blends. On its own, Cabernet Franc produces wines with brightness, pepper and black tea aromas. An exciting variety in South Africa. Raats Dolomite 2015 (Stellenbosch) A luscious wine with elegance. Integrated flavours of blackberry and black cherry mingle with tobacco and spice. Soft and gentle tannins with hints of minerality. 380 CABERNET SAUVIGNON This classic, age-worthy grape variety offers an array of red and dark fruit on the nose combined with fine tannins, and vanilla, spice and earthy notes on the palate. Lanzerac 2014 (Stellenbosch) A classic Cabernet showing plenty of fruity drinkability with the tantalizing promise of savoury and lip-smacking black fruits coming to the fore. The well-integrated tannins leave a soft, clean finish. 410 Boekenhoutskloof 2011 (Franschhoek) This highly pedigreed wine has notes of cigar box and pencil shavings. The palate is packed with dark fruit and firm ripe tannins PINOTAGE A variety born in South Africa. Capable of many different styles and increasingly complex and interesting. Kanonkop 2015 (Stellenbosch) Very complex with hints of red fruit flavours. An elegant wine with ripe tannins. 890

11 PINOT NOIR A firm but fresh and vibrant variety with bright fruit, perfume and forest floor aromas. Iona 2014 (Elgin) 700 Stresses forest floor, earthy notes of raspberry & cherry. Structured more by acid than tannin, with mostly older oak support on dark-fruited palate. Lynx 2016 (Franschoek) 605 A lighter Style Pinot Noir with all the varietal characteristics that you would expect to find Dark cherries, raspberries, medium tannin and good acidity. OTHER RED VARIETIES Grenache: Piekenierskloof 2015 (Piekenierskloof/Swartland) 270 Charming with strawberry & scrub notes, medium bodied with a refreshing acidity finishing with lively tannins Winery of Good Hope Thirst Gamay 2017 (Stellenbosch) 380 Lean and Fruity but by no means simple. The Palate displays supple tannins that provide texture, expressive red, herbaceous tomato leaf and a fantastic length.
