WINTER GLACADE CEREMONY Friday, January 30 th at the home Basketball Game. Dance will be February 7 th. MCL ALL ACADEMIC TEAM The Plainville Cardinals have 4 students who received MCL All Academic honors. Students earn this award by maintaining a 3.85 GPA for 7 semesters and be involved in 12 MCL and/or KSHSAA activities prior to the end of the first semester of their senior year. Brianna Casey, Aaron Fisher, Craig Garvert, and Mallory McQueen received the award on January 24 th at half-time of the MCL Boys Basketball finals in WaKeeney. Congratulations, we are proud of your accomplishments. 3 Mrs. Becker s Preschool The preschoolers have been having lots of fun, and learning along the way! We have learned about letters a through o using our Zoo Phonics. This program incorporates an animal and action to help students remember each letter of the alphabet. For example: Allie Alligator s body forms the letter a. The students stretch their arms out and chomp them together like an alligator s mouth while saying /ah/, /ah/. We recently started journaling. The students draw pictures to finish a story prompt. It is so fun to see how creative they are as they use their vast imagination! This is a great prewriting activity that is helping them get their thoughts on paper, as well as improving their pencil grasp. Another favorite activity is our Music and Movement time. This includes, yoga, dancing to music, or work with bean bags.
