3 A Casual Christmas Affair Sand Bar-Style The Sand Bar is perfectly positioned, adjoining Fraser Island's gorgeous western beach, and offers a great alternative for those wanting something a little less ostentatious for their party. You'll board the ferry at River Heads and be met on arrival by our friendly team for your transfer to The Sand Bar. It's a relaxing place to have a few Christmas ales and enjoy being out in the fresh Fraser air. 4 A Simple Christmas At The Maheno Fresh local seafood is the order of the day in The Maheno Restaurant and, when it comes to Christmas parties, that's exactly what we deliver. Guests catch the ferry from River Heads and are met at the jetty for their transfer to The Maheno and the start of their Christmas celebrations. Prawns, oysters, sand crabs and Moreton Bay Bugs share centre stage with our hot and cold mains buffet and sumptuous dessert selection. The Maheno Restaurant, located in the central hub of the resort, looks out over the resort's main pool and offers easy access to the resort facilities.
