Northvale Residents - $1.00 (local use) Non-residents - $3.00 Van usage going out of town is $3.00 roundtrip for Northvale & non-residents. To help streamline van usage, we are asking riders to help by following these simple rules: Please call at least 24 hours in advance to make your appointment. (Please do not assume you are automatically on the pick-up schedule). For Doctor and Dentist appointments, please call to see when the van is available and make your medical appointments accordingly. We will do our best to accommodate you and your needs. Please do not make multiple appointments in one day. Plan to be ready for pick-up at least one hour before your scheduled appointment. Times should be scheduled between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please provide us with your Doctor s name, address, suite # and phone number. Shop-Rite trips are Tuesday & Thursday s at 10:00 am. No more than 7 shoppers per trip first-come/first-served. The van services the following towns only: Northvale, Rockleigh, Norwood, Harrington Park, Closter, Old Tappan, and Tappan. PLEASE CALL THE CENTER ASAP IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL: (201) From the desk of Pam Carpanini It seems winter has left and now we received rain and hot temperatures! It doesn t seem to help the arthritis sufferers (personally speaking OUCH). However, we are here and can still somehow enjoy life. On that note, I have been busy organizing many activities for you to take pleasure in. On July 12 th our Northvale Campers (grades 3 rd & 4 th ) will be here at 9:30 am for a fun-filled morning of BINGO (free). If you would like to participate, please contact the Center. Our Fish Fry is all set for Wednesday, July 26 th at 12:00 Noon. If you have not yet signed up, please do so ASAP. The deadline is July 19 th. Lunch will include: fish, french fries, coleslaw, beverages and dessert for only $20. I am also told that the infamous chef will entertain us for a bit with his bag pipes. Moving forward to August 23 rd, I am offering a Hot Dog Social. This includes: hot dogs, baked beans, beverages and ice-cream (and you never know what else I will surprise you with) - all for a mere $10. Sign-up quickly! 3 From the desk of Arlene Rosa The Golden Age Club We are finally in the warmer weather. Everyone on the June trip to The Pines Theater had a wonderful time. Our upcoming trip on July 13 th to the River Belle Cruise and lunch at the Shrimp Box is practically sold out. Taking names for wait list only. In August we are going to Brooklyn, NY. On August 10 th we will be touring different neighborhoods and sites with lunch at Junior s. We will have the same tour guide as our New York trip. Our other upcoming trip is to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse on September 21 st. We will be seeing Come Blow Your Horn. Everyone have a safe July 4 th and enjoy the warm weather. 4 It s for the Birds A few of us got together to craft birdfeeders made with cookie cutters. We had fun and we know the flying feathered friends will enjoy a treat! CALLING ALL BAKERS! Northvale Town Day will be held at Hogan s Memorial Field on Saturday, September 9 th (rain date September 10 th ) starting at 2:00 PM. We are in the planning stages for this event and are looking for bakers to enter their baked goods in a fun bakers contest. All that is required if you would like to participate, is simply contact The Center and let us know what you will be baking. Two of your baked goods are needed. One for the judges to sample, and one for others to eat. You are also welcome to bring copies of your recipe to be handed out.
